Hi I'm Amelia

I grew up in Utah. I love storytelling, sitting on a shaded porch with lemonade, and studying science.

About Me

I've grown up in Utah surrounded by incredible mountains. I am studying biology in college with the hopes of being able to help others someday through biology and genetics. I also enjoy simple things such as sitting on a shaded porch with lemonade or spending time with others and sharing stories. I am the oldest of 9 children in the family and as such I've had opportunities to be like a second mother and help out at home. To me, my siblings are one of the best things and each one is like a built-in friend for life. There is hardly a dull moment (or a quiet one!) as we learn to love and grow together. We aren't perfect, but I love my family very much and the moments we spend together. Some of my favorite activities to do with family are board/card games and baking cookies.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was 8 years old I made the decision to be baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I am a Mormon because it has given me direction, potential, and purpose in my life. I didn't know everything about the gospel at the young age of 8 and I still continue to increase knowledge and understanding of the gospel as a lifelong pursuit. However, as I have prayed about the new things I learn and actively participate in worship and searching out God's word, my testimony continues to grow as the Holy Ghost witnesses the truthfulness of the gospel to me. In short, I am a Mormon because of the purpose I have found, the love I have for my Savior and Father in Heaven and the love they have for me, and a lasting happiness that living the gospel brings.

How I live my faith

I read and study the word of God and I like to pray and commune with my Father in Heaven. I also find joy in my calling to visit and teach other sister members and develop friendships with those of my congregation and worldwide. I try to live my faith through small and simple means. I find happiness in being obedient to the Lord to the best that I can. Overall I find the greatest happiness as I try my best to follow the example and life of Jesus.
