Hi I'm Colter Merrell

I grew up in Utah and currently live in Texas. I volunteer with Camp Journey During the day.

About Me

My name is Colter, I recently graduated from Cinco ranch High school and I am going on a mission to Posadas Argentina, I leave for the MTC on October 9th. I enjoy visual arts in all of its forms. I use that as an excuse to play some video games. I am the former Lighting Designer and Lighting Board Operator for the fantastic Cinco Ranch Theater Company. I enjoy my time there and cherish what I have learned.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church and have lived my life as best as i can so far and i plan on continuing to live my life this way. I see it as something to be happy about and it was recognized by my fellow theater company members and i was happy that they knew that i would not curse or drink coffee in the morning. And funny enough i was still one of the more energetic participants.

How I live my faith

I help around the community by volunteering with a Autistic Camp ran by Suzette Coats called Camp Journey. Me and many other LDS volunteers help Autistic children be able to spend their time and do things we do normal such as ride horses and go to pool party. I have also done some lighting design for a locally produced Theater Company.

What is the priesthood?

Colter Merrell
The priesthood is the authority to act in God’s name. The same priesthood authority that existed in the original Church established by Jesus Christ exists in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints today. The Church is directed and led through this authority. All male members of the Church who are prepared receive the priesthood in order to help lead the Church and serve Heavenly Father’s children. A man with the priesthood might serve in some of the following ways: Leading congregations of the Church Performing the ordinances of the Church, such as baptism Blessing those who are sick God expects those who hold this sacred priesthood authority to follow the example of Jesus Christ and serve with love, gentleness, and kindness.
