Hi I'm Sierra

I grew up in Salt Lake City, UT. I love to dance. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am leaving to serve a full time mission in one week, and I am very excited!! Before I leave my favorite hobbies are to: dance, listen to music, bake, camp, pretty much anything with friends and/or family. I received my associates degree and am planning to return to school after my mission to ultimately receive at least a masters degree. I love this gospel so much! And I know the teachings are true!

Why I am a Mormon

I first knew I wanted to be a Mormon when I was about 7 years old. I was sitting in church pondering about the teachings when I felt a warm feeling come over me. The church was pretty cold so I knew it had nothing to do with the temperature. But the feeling stayed, and it made me feel so happy and good. I knew at that moment what I was being taught was true and the more I searched and learned about the gospel that feeling became more frequent. That moment, as small it is, has stuck with me my entire life. There have been many more instances during my life, like that one, that have kept me wanting to stay in the gospel and to strive to learn more. I know this gospel is true, I really do. I know we all have a Heavenly Father who loves us individually as his own sons and daughters. Isn't that amazing? I know Heavenly Father knows me, Sierra, better than I know myself. I know Jesus Christ is our perfect older brother. He sacrificed his own life for all of our sins and he is our perfect example. I know Joseph Smith was a prophet, and he did restore the church back onto the Earth. I know these teachings are the teachings of the Lord and not created by Joseph; but rather Joseph was an obedient servant to the Lord and he was able to translate the gold plates into the Book of Mormon. I am grateful for his obedience from the time of the first vision to the last moment he had on Earth, he is also a great example to us. I know the Book of Mormon is true. The scriptures are another testament of Jesus Christ. I know President Thomas S. Monson is a living day prophet to give us revelation for these latter days. We also so blessed to have a modern day prophet. He knows what the individuals on the Earth need for this particular time and he will and has guided us. I could continue for much longer but I would like to emphasize one point in particular. I know the temple is the house of the Lord. I know families are eternal with the temple. The temple is my favorite place to be.

How I live my faith

While I was at University in particular, the Institute building always had an event going on at least once a week. Some examples are: blood drives, dances, luncheons, concerts, study days, etc. It was so much fun to attend those events and meet either other members or those investigating the church in while enjoying the event in a comfortable environment. However for when I am not in school and back in my home ward, my family enjoys inviting members of the ward, active or not, to come have a campfire or dinner or play games, really anything that everyone enjoys and gets the opportunity to get to know their neighbors more.
