Hi I'm Melanie

I live in Southeast Idaho. I am a teacher, a mom to three wonderful sons and reader of books, and I'm Mormon!

About Me

I am a mom and like many of us- busy trying to keep up with my kids. I have three sons -24, 21 and 14. They are one of the greatest blessings in my life. They keep my life rolling along. I have had the opportunity to be a single mom over ten years. At times, it hasn't been easy but together all things are possible! I know that Heavenly Father is there and love hanging out with "my boys" whether that is hiking, or playing games with them. I try to be a positive person - Motto - Smile! It will be better! I have the opportunity to teach at a local middle school of 6th graders! I love it! It is exciting to see their faces when they get something - love those "ah ha" moments. I love being active - hiking, walking, running - just being outdoors!

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church. There was a time in my life it was hard to go, but that is the time I needed it most! My family and my ward family were amazing! This is one way Heavenly Father demonstrated his love me. My ward family loved my sons and me and rallied around to help us through a difficult time. I learned that going through trials will give us experience and that our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ will be there for each of us- we just need to reach out. He loves us and wants us to be happy! Living the commandments and following His gospel is the right path. I know as I continue to live HIS teachings - I am happier! It is so worth it!

How I live my faith

A few years ago, I was asked to be the music leader for the Primary children (ages 3-11). I was overwhelmed at even the thought of getting up in front of the children to sing, let alone lead. I wondered if they had asked the right person, but through prayer I know that I am taught to know what I need to do. The children remind me each week of our Savior's love for each of us. I am truly blessed to the music leader for them. Currently, I oversee the Primary organization in our ward. The children teach me so many wonderful lessons through their actions. It is a wonderful blessing to be with them. Living my faith is more than a Sunday calling. I hope that each day, I can be a better person than I was the day before. I have had the opportunity to send my two oldest sons on a mission. Their knowledge of our Savior's love has blessed their life, our families, and many more.
