Hi I'm Kent Schmutz

I'm from Provo, Utah. I am a missionary for Jesus Christ in the the beautiful state of Michigan! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Kent Schmutz, and I am currently serving in the Michigan Lansing Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I'm originally from Provo, Utah. Before my mission I attended Brigham Young University and really enjoyed it! The most important thing in the world to me is my family. I am the youngest of five, and I look up to my older brothers and sisters a whole lot. Although I miss them while I am away in Michigan, I have never done something more worthwhile than the service mission that I currently serve. I love the people of Michigan and it my sacred privilege to share the message of the Restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ with as many as I come in contact with!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family that is active in the church, and my parents and older siblings had strong testimonies that I relied on during my earlier years. However, when I was in High School I decided that I needed to pray for myself to know if the Book of Mormon was true. I did, and I began to study the scriptures and become more involved in Seminary, Sunday Meetings, and Church activities. I received a testimony of the truth of the Gospel and since then I have experienced so many amazing blessings. I know that my life is blessed through prayer, making and keeping covenants with my Father in Heaven, studying the scriptures, and following all other principles of the Gospel. I am so blessed to know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the true church of Christ.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying my best to be like my Savior, Jesus Christ. As I share the gospel and interact with others, I try to do what Jesus would do if her were in my shoes. I fall short a lot, but thankfully the Atonement of Jesus Christ helps me to overcome my weaknesses and turn them into strengths. I have never appreciated the power of daily prayer and scripture study, but it has become a part of me now. Every day I strive to draw closer to my Savior and Redeemer. I love Him so much.
