Hi I'm Shawn Hamelwright

I am a self-proclaimed professional wind chime-ist. I prefer my subs toasted and I'm a mormon.

About Me

I am twenty-one years old. I am serving a church mission in the Kansas Wichita Mission. Some of my hobbies include Music (piano, guitar, choral, etc.) Sports, (football, basketball, running.) and Television/movies. I am the youngest child of four. Two boys and two girls. I love my parents, especially my mom!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because I am happiest that way. I have researched other churches in my attempt to discover the truthfulness of this one. I have found many truths in several churches, but I have found the Mormon church to be the one with every truth I believe in. That is why I've chosen this church.

How I live my faith

I am serving a mission for the LDS church. As a missionary, it is my job to teach those not of the mormon faith about our church. I am teaching them about Jesus Christ and the restoration of his Gospel through his modern-day prophet Joseph Smith.

Why don’t women hold the priesthood in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints? How do Mormon women lead in the Church?

Shawn Hamelwright
Men and Women are considered equal in the church, but they do have different roles. The priesthood offices in the church are only held by men, but women can act in their callings (church duties) with priesthood authority when they're set apart.
