Hi I'm Niki Maxwell

I grew up in Utah. I've been called to serve an LDS mission in Halifax, Canada. I am a Mormon & I love this gospel.

About Me

I am an energetic & happy 18 (soon to be 19) year old girl. I am EXTREMELY excited to go on my mission to Halifax, Canada & feel so blessed to have this opportunity. I've completed 1 year of college at Utah State University studying Dietetics (Food Nutrition) and I absolutely loved it there. I plan on returning to USU after my mission to finish my degree. Growing up I played volleyball & ran track and field. I love the outdoors and living a healthy & fit lifestyle. I am an ambitious person who sets high goals and I try my best to achieve them and become a better person everyday. I have a strong testimony of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and I cannot wait to help bring others to the knowledge of the truth, the meaning of life, & the love of God. "Yea, come unto Christ, and be perfected in him, and deny yourselves of all ungodliness; and if ye shall deny yourselves of all ungodliness, and love God with all your might, mind and strength, then is his grace sufficient for you, that by his grace ye may be perfect in Christ; and if by the grace of God ye are perfect in Christ, ye can in nowise deny the power of God". The Book of Mormon; Moroni 10:32

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon for many reasons. LIke I've already mentioned, I love the focus of serving our fellow man. But I am also a Mormon because I know, without a doubt, that this church is the one & only true church on the Earth. I've spent many years struggling to come to this knowledge for myself. My parents both have strong testimonies and for years I would rely on what they believe, do what they did, and hope that someday I would know for myself. How did I come to know? I hit an ultimate low, I had never felt more alone, more guilty, or more disgraced in my life and I needed somewhere to turn. I needed comfort, love, peace, & strength. I prayed to God for his help that I could find myself again, be strong enough to climb out of this hole with his guidance, and repent & be forgiven of the sins I committed. I testify that God is real. He is there. He loves us. I know that the Holy Ghost is real, I've felt his comfort & guidance. With this knowledge I took Moroni's promise at the end of The Book of Mormon and prayed to God with sincerity, a broken heart, & a contrite spirit to know of the Book of Mormon's truth. I testify that the Book of Mormon is real revelation given from God for our day. He knows our temptations & how to resist them, and that is proven through the Book of Mormon. I know that Joseph Smith is a true prophet & that he translated the Book of Mormon for our benefit through the power of God. I also know that President Thomas S. Monson is a true prophet of The Lord. He receives revelation from God for us, and I know if we follow his counsel we can return to live with Heavenly Father & Jesus Christ one day. I know that Jesus Christ lives. I testify that he came down to Earth, received a mortal body, and made an infinite & eternal atonement for all of us so we can be forgiven of our sins and become pure like him. I am so grateful for this gospel and who it has made me today. I love it so much and cannot wait to share it with others.

How I live my faith

I have been a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints since I was 8 years old. I've helped serve in the church in many ways, ranging from a class president in our Young Women program, a pianist for our hymns of worship, a youth activities planner, and a teacher for the children of the ward, ages 4-11. When I was a youth I helped participate in many service projects that my church organized. We've done little things like helping at the food bank, compiling hygiene kits, and picking up litter around the city. But we have also done larger projects, such as building/remodeling homes, volunteering at shelters for abused children, making blankets and toys for children in Africa, and much, much more. What I love about this church is the service we provide, the lives that are changed, and happiness it brings to others, myself, and my Heavenly Father. "And behold, I tell you these things that ye may learn wisdom; that ye may learn that when ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God". Book of Mormon; Mosiah 2: 17.
