Hi I'm Nathan

I grew up in Pocatello Idaho, im an adventure seeking teenager, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am fresh out of High School and I have been on my mission in New Zealand for about a year now. New Zealand is an amazing country and I am so happy to be serving here! Back home I spent a lot of time adventure seeking. Our family owns a boat and I take it out with my friends several times a week where we wakeboard, kneeboard, and tube out on the lake. If im not boating im probably fishing or off-roading in my Jeep Wrangler. I also love going the rope swing, jumping off the river waterfall, or just tubing the river. In the winter I love to ski and have a season pass at my local resort. I love rock and pop music and go to concerts as often as I can. Recently for my sisters birthday I had the opportunity to go skydiving and that just might end up to be my new favorite hobby.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of the great and simple things that this gospel teaches that can bring eternal happiness. I had a conversation with a friend one day about why I first decided to stay Mormon. I answered him saying "Why not?" We need to ask 'what are the consequences of living the gospel?' or on the other hand 'what are the consequences by not living the gospel?' I explained that, even though the gospel seems like a lot of rules and expectations, that there are long term and short term benefits from living the gospel. An example might be that I might not get to go boating or to the movie on Sunday, but by keeping his commandments my Heavenly Father promises me short term blessings on Earth as well as long term blessing such as happiness and everlasting life. I said isn't it worth it just to see what happens? To take a chance? Even if you are not sure your Heavenly Father exists, to take a chance and live the way Christ taught to eventually receive the great blessing that he promises? It is just a few sacrifices for ETERNAL HAPPINESS!!! I know that the small sacrifices we make now to live the gospel will not only make us healthier, wealthier, and wiser today; but will eventually bring us back to live with our families in heaven, with God, in happiness for eternity;) IT IS SO WORTH IT!

How I live my faith

The biggest way I live my faith is through service to my Heavenly Father. Being on a mission is one of the greatest opportunities to live your faith! It is so amazing to see how the way I live my faith effects others around me in such a positive way! Your example can really change lives!!! Back home through are youth group we are able to do service around are neighborhood and community ranging from helping people move to cleaning windows and weeding gardens. I am a Eagle Scout and I know that the principles taught in scouting helped me live my faith more fully. I have had various callings that I have voluntarily accepted throughout my teenage years and the greatest one of as is my mission here to New Zealand.
