Hi I'm Lauren Alfrey

Im from the great North West (WA). I'm from a family of 6 kids and I love it. Love all sports and music. And I'm a Mormon:)

About Me

I have had such an amazing childhood! I have been so lucky and grateful to have grown up close to family. They have been my biggest support system and have loved me without fail. I am one of six kids and wouldn't want it any other way. I have grown up in the church and am extremely blessed for it. I love sports and have played ever since I could walk. Soccer is my passion and it really has shown me who I am and helped be know of my individual worth. I also have a special place for music. I started playing the piano at a young age and was taught by my mom. Eventually I started learning how to play the cello and love playing. I have recently gotten my mission call to serve in the Singapore Mission and I can't wait to go serve :)

Why I am a Mormon

Being a Mormon is not just a choice but a privilege. I know that without the church in my life, I would not be where I am today. I have learned so much about myself and where my life is going because of the knowledge I have of this gospel. Life isn't easy and it comes with a lot of trials and bumps in the road, but I know that there is a purpose in all things. I found the value of my individual worth when I broke my collar bone and I know it sounds dumb but sports have been my life and to not be able to play made me feel like I was worthless. But through a lot of tears and prayer I was able to reaffirm my knowledge that my Heavenly Father loves me regardless of what I do. I also have experiences with death. My best friend was taken from me a couple years ago and it about crushed me. But I know, through the plan of salvation, that he is not far. I know that I will be able to see him again along with my eternal family whom I'm sealed too. Despite what I've been through, and despite all the bumps in the road that I've encountered, I have managed to stay happy and that is all due to the truth of this church. I am a Mormon because the knowledge I have allows me to see the best in life and to be happy no matter what!

How I live my faith

Being involved with the church is so easy and so fun! I have loved attending Primary and going to Activity Days as a young girl and then moving on to Young Women's where I went to mutual every Tuesday or Wednesday and now attending the Young Singles Adult Ward. Over the years I have been able to serve in the Young Women's class presidencies which gave me more of a chance to serve the girls. But being a member is so much more than attending church and fulfilling callings. Its about living it every day. Its all about the little things such as reading your scriptures and saying your prayers. By doing those things it has made life so much easier to keep living the commandments.
