Hi I'm Michael

I grew up in Utah and now live in Arizona. We have a horse program for people with handicaps and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a small rural western mormon community. This fact influenced my choices and the direction my life has taken. I am a lifelong educator and now retired, I am a proud father, grandfather and brother to my siblings. I enjoy reading, working with people and serving others. My wife and I have a program of horse therapy for handicapped individuals as well as veterans. I have been a teacher, a farrier, a team roper and a school superintendent. I am proud to have served my country and to have served a mission for my church.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because in my heart I know that God lives, that Jesus is the Christ and that I can have an eternal family. I love the peace and knowledge that the Book of Mormon brings into my life. It truly changes lives and changes people. The Gospel is simple, it is true, it allows us to receive and experience the tender mercies of The Lord. My wife is my best friend and a forgiving partner in helping me realize the progress that can be made in this life. The church is not made for the perfect, but the imperfect, those of us trying to serve others and being better today than we were yesterday.

How I live my faith

I am and have been active in many of my communities service organizations and have served on many service projects. My church callings have been varied but have revolved around working with the youth and leadership positions. My favorite church calling has been as a volunteer at the local state prison, I have been in this calling for seven years. It has been a great opportunity to grow and realize what the atonement of our elder brother means in my life and the lives of those who search for forgiveness and a new beginning. This calling has done much to build in me a knowledge of forgiveness and love. I truly love those I serve.
