Hi I'm Chris

I am a born into the covenant member of the church. I grew up in Augusta, GA and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I'm interested in astronomy. I play the saxophone, and plan to finish learning the piano, and start the violin. My goal is to get my degree in astrophysics and one day work with NASA. I plan to go to BYU Idaho when i get back from Colorado. I've not always been strong in my church attendance. Recently (december of 2012 to be exact) I decided to go to my YSA (Young Single Adults) program. I then met a friend who helped me realize that I had a stronger testimony than i was letting myself believe. I decided to do something I hadn't done before. I started reading the scriptures to find out for myself if I truly believed in it. While reading the Book of Mormon I was praying asking for help from God. One day i finally had my moment of conversion. I, from that moment, believed without a doubt about God. I realized that God and science weren't two different things. President Eyring wrote in his book REFLECTIONS of a SCIENTIST about his father and what he said to him. His father told him, as President Eyring was about to go to college as a youth, "go learn whatever you can and whatever is true is part of the gospel." This is what I believe about the gospel and about the universe.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a member because I have no doubts about the church. Despite the anti-mormon media out there. I keep my eyes, and mind, and heart fixated on the truth. When you do that find the truth. The truth is Joseph Smith restored the church, and brought us back the fullness of the gospel. No other church out there has what The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints has. When you go to the church you feel the spirit so much it's next to impossible to deny the feelings inside your heart. I have never gone to church, even when I was inactive, and didn't feel a calm presence soothing my soul. I've learned more about the church and the truth by just opening myself, and my heart to things I was denying myself before. I go and it makes me want to be a better person every week. It makes me set new goals for myself. I love this church, and though the people may not always be perfect, I've never once seen the church falter. It will never falter. For something built upon the truth is built on an unshakeable foundation and can not be broken.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing my best to better myself and to help anyone else God allows me to. I am about to go on a mission for the church. I've been called to serve in the Colorado Denver North Mission. I'm so happy to be found worthy to go and serve the lord. I want to help everyone see the truth of the gospel as I've seen it. I know not everyone will see it right away. I will just do everything I can and let the Lord take it away after that. I help out in my ward anyway I can. I help the missionaries and give rides to all other young single adults to YSA events. We live about 40 minutes away from where we hold our FHE(Family Home Evenings) and this makes it hard for most of our young single adults to make it. I try to help out by taking them there. This is because I believe in the power of comrade and the YSA does a great job helping strengthen us.
