Hi I'm Kevin Eugene Martin

I'm a Mormon who blogs about his faith at blogofamormon.com.

About Me

I was baptized unto repentance on April 7, 2013 and confirmed a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on April 14, 2013. I requested to meet with LDS missionaries online because I was essentially seeking higher meaning in my life. I just knew that there had to be more than merely waking up and going to sleep each day. One of the things that prompted me to speak with LDS missionaries was that my parents would have discussions with them when we lived in a small town in Iowa about four or five years ago. Some years later I had found out that Mormon missionaries did not get paid for their work, so that spoke volumes to me. That told me that the missionaries of the Church genuinely had something in their lives that they were passionate about and they simply wanted to share it with those who were receptive and willing improve their lives by coming unto Christ. Long story short, I met with the missionaries for weeks and they taught me all the basics about the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Before joining the Church, I was of no particular faith, I was lost, but becoming a Mormon changed my life for the better. I have come to know that my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ love me dearly and they want to see me succeed in life and be happy. I have and others have definitely seen a huge positive difference in me since joining the Church. The most important thing that I have learned is that although blessings may take time to come to past, prayer really does work!

Why I am a Mormon

Firstly, I love Heavenly Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. I'm a Mormon because I read the Book of Mormon and it simply touched my heart. I felt the Spirit confirm to me that it is the word of God. There are even little things that I come across today in the Book of Mormon that reaffirm my belief that it is the word of God. Also, at the time before getting baptized, I prayed for answers and Heavenly Father gave me answers through the Holy Spirit, thus the generosity of the Spirit confirmed the truthfulness of the Church to me. I could on and on and on about why I'm a Mormon, but that's basically why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith in a number of ways. I try to partake of the sacrament worthily every Sunday. I always remind myself to have faith and repent. I study the scriptures on a daily basis. I blog about the gospel and share it with others on the Internet. I tag along with the full-time missionaries to help share the restored gospel, so that others may come unto Christ and improve their lives just as I have done with mine. Hopefully, I will be serving a full-time mission after I finish earning my associates degree in Web Design and Administration. Currently, I serve as a ward missionary in preparation for my full-time mission and it's been a blast helping people. Lastly, but not least, I live my faith by not selling myself short and living up to the divine purposes that God put me on this earth for.
