Hi I'm Christine

Im, a Californian, love to travel, a mother, a wife, a band show designer, homeschooler, music lover and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I love adventure and new things. I married my high school sweet heart who I met in high school band who was not LDS at the time. I then moved to Germany with his and was a military wife for 4 years as he was a drummer in teh US Army band. I traveled to 20 countries and my love for history was born. Yeah...I love to travel. My husband chose to be baptised and we were sealed in the Frankfor Germany Temple. Why? because family is very important to both of us. Since then I have gone to college and worked hard as my husband finished his degree. I have coached drumlines for 11 years and high school colorguard and band show design for 8. All while being a mommy of my 3 great boys. And yes we are pretty cool band geeks. Now I live in Ohio and homeschool my kids while my hubby finishes his PHD. Its been a crazy ride and there is still more to come and I cant wait to see what is in store for us.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in a LDS home but that does not mean I still have to be a mormon. I chose to continue in my faith because I truly believe in its principles. A church that helps others, teaches a message of hope and joy, family centered in all aspects, modesty and health, chastity and love. I believe in modern day prophets. Why wouldn't God want to speak to his children? This is a church that tells you to find out for yourself if it is true. So give it a try.

How I live my faith

I attend church every week and enjoy seeing and talking with people I see there. I am the Cub Master of my congregations cub age boys. When I fist was married my husband was not a member of the church. I still faithful went to church every week, via a ride from another family. I was determined to set a good example for my husband. One of my favorite sayings is that "if you dont feel like going to church, that means you need to go to church." It is so true. I go to church knowing that I sould hear at least one thing that can uplift me and prepare me for teh next week. My boys love going to primary and love learning the songs. I love watching even my 4 year old give tiny talks and watching my boys sing at church on holidays. This church is a family church and I will always love it.

What do Mormons believe about the Bible? Do they regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

The Bible is holy scripture and is used just as much as the Book of Mormon. Show more Show less

Why do some call Mormonism a cult?

I think some people refur to us as a cult because they dont know enough about us. My friends I grew up with (none of them were mormon) would never say that I was part of a cult. They all came to church with me now and then. My friends have even been in awe of the support I have recieved from members of the LDS church. Cult implies mindless following and dominating leadership. The LDS church is anything but that. Show more Show less

What is faith?

Faith is to believe in something that you have not seen. Faith is something that you develope and not something you are born with. Sometimes it starts with something small and the hope that it is true. If you build on that then you will see growth in your fith is it is something real. Show more Show less

Does The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints endorse political parties?

The church does not claim any party. People within the church are free to choose their political party and we are not asked to support any one party more than another. My mother is republican and my father is a demicrat if that doesn't tell you something. Show more Show less

Do Mormons practice polygamy?

The church does not support Polygamy. We believe in obeying the laws of the land. Early church members were asked to do this. It was not a free for all. The men were asked to do this and had to agree to it. In no way shape or form was it done just for fun. Some did not even have any children with these additional wives but took care of the family that they woman already had. Through revolation of a prophet it was made known that polygamy would no longer be acceptable in the church. Show more Show less
