Hi I'm Lorraine

I'm a mummy, a housewife and a homemaker. I love to be creative. I am a Japan obsessed AnimeFreak. I'm a Mormon. ^.^

About Me

I'm currently a Full-Time mummy to 1. My little boy was born on Christmas Eve 2012. I like to craft, almost anything, I'm always open to new things, my current trends are crochet, card making, scrapbooking and my main crafty love, sewing. Before having my baby I worked doing Repairs and Alterations on clothes and curtains which I quite enjoyed. Before that I was studying Midwifery which was interesting and enlightening and I loved it but not sure if it was something I could commit my life to with Children that line has been put on hold for the time being. I love my family and cant wait to extend it further. I love anime and Manga and am trying to learn Japanese, although the spare time I have to do these things it might take a while!

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church, I was baptised not long after my 8th birthday, however at 16 I started to question my faith and came away from the church for a very long time. I got to a low point in my life where I didnt know what to do or where to turn. I was separated from my family for my studies and didnt have any friends locally apart from those I had briefly met at church once or twice. They welcomed me and as I attended more often and started reading my scriptures and praying I felt at peace, I felt whole and I felt the best I had felt in my life. After nearly a year back at church I started dating a wonderful guy who is now my husband. I love the church, I love the Book of Mormon, I know its true. I've seen the Bitter and the Sweet both in and out of the church and know my life is better in the church, the hard times are easier when I know I have Christ and others in the church to rely on. I hear the words of the prophets and read the Bible and Book of Mormon and my heart just knows it must be true. I love being in the knowledge that I am sealed to my family for time and all eternity, no matter what happens I can be with them forever. All these things and so much more brings Peace to my heart. I would not be who I am today without the church in my life, It has made me a much better person and I wouldn't change it for the world.

How I live my faith

I'm currently 2nd Councillor in Young Women's which means I get to do stuff a lot with the youth of our ward (Girls between 12-18). I loved Young Women's a lot when I was a Young Woman so I'm really enjoying my calling now and cant wait to do camp etc. I get to teach a fair amount in my calling which still gets me really nervous and feel I'm not very good at it. I love going to Youth Activities which we have once a week, I love helping the Young Women be creative and especially love things I can link in with Personal Progress. Personal Progress is a supplement program to the Young Women which outline a varity of goals to achieve which help them grow physically, mentally and spiritually. I'm a big fan of Personal Progress and have taken charge of it for our girls, I never managed to do it when I was in Youth and was disappointed with myself but now I have a second chance so I'm not wasting it. We often get involved in service projects in the community where we can, I love to serve others which is one of the many reasons I love this church so much. I suppose I live my faith most at home by reading and studying, praying and trying to teach my son what I believe.
