Hi I'm Amanda

I love Shakespeare, mismatching socks and my crazy family. I'm a Utahn, a bit of a nerd, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Right now, I am on a mission in England, where I'll spend 18 months of my life teaching people about my beliefs and how they can bring themselves closer to Jesus Christ. I spent a year at Utah State University before I left and plan to continue my education there when I leave England. I hope to get my bachelor's degree in Special Education, and my life-long goal is to gain a doctorate degree. I love to learn. I think it's so interesting to find out how different things in the world work. Ever since I was young, I have had a love for animals-especially horses. I've ridden horses since I was 12 and love being around them. I've always loved plays and acting, and participated in my high school's drama program. I especially love Shakespeare's plays. The language that he uses is just so beautiful! Spiderman is my favorite comic book hero, which is something I inherited from my dad. We love the superhero movies and cartoons. I also love outdoor activities like hiking, boating, running, and camping. My favorite place to visit is Bear Lake in the summertime.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were Mormons before I was born, and they've always taught me about God and his Son, Jesus Christ. I have a very curious mind and I've often had questions about life. Every time I had a question, I would try to find my own answer. I would read scriptures, ask questions, and pray to God for guidance. God always answers my questions, often through the scriptures or other people, but no matter how the answer comes, it is accompanied by a feeling of peace and understanding. There are many things that I still don't know, but I cherish the things I do know. I've learned for myself that there is a God, he has a plan, and that he has called Prophets and given us scripture to help us learn about his plan. Through studying the Book of Mormon and listening to modern-day Prophets, I've also come to know that God does have a church on the earth that is His. This knowledge has given me hope and security, and my commitment to my faith has increased throughout my life. I'm so grateful to be a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by sharing it! My religion has brought so many answers to me. It has carried me and given me strength to deal with problems that we all face in life. I want other people to have God's love to lean on. So I'm in England, sharing the things that I know and inviting others to come unto Christ. The most important way to live my faith is to follow the example of Jesus Christ. I try to become as kind and gentle as He show us to be. I strive to be dependable and loving. Just as He made promises to his Father by being baptized, I have made promises to God when I was baptized and every day I try to live so that I keep those promises.
