Hi I'm Sophia

I love that I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi, I'm Sophia. I'm apart of a large family and love to entertain my younger cousins. I survive on bread and the tomatoes from my dad's master garden. I sing and talk with my mom for hours on end. I toss the football around with my brother and stay up late laughing with my sisters. My family is so blessed to have the gospel of Jesus Christ. I get along with most anyone from grandma's in the nursing home down the street, to new babies in the hospital. Good people are like good food, you can never have enough of them. I love to use my hands to create and capture beauty. I play the piano, flute, and am beginning to learn to accompany on the organ because music touches me and because I feel free to do whatever I want when I play. I think God created good music to give us a taste of Heaven on earth. I am enthralled with photography, and follow in the footsteps of my aunt and uncle and grandfather in painting and drawing. I've lived all over the United States from Florida to Washington and I have even lived in Brazil. I've learned that I have so much still to learn!

Why I am a Mormon

I have been raised Mormon and I love it! I can't imagine any other way to live. I want to be Mormon because when my family and I live the gospel we are the happiest. Not to say their aren't trying times but knowing that our Savior Jesus Christ lived and died for us and that he understands our deepest sorrows and pains and that he overcame death and sin, and that he wants us to receive a fullness of joy and that our Heavenly Fathers whole purpose for us on this earth is to gain the knowledge and experiences we need to progress and return to Him it all works out. I'm Mormon because I read the Book of Mormon, pondered it, prayed about it and was answered with overwhelming peace from God telling me it is true. Because of this, I know God still communicates with His children today and that he has restored His power and authority to the earth. I want to be on his side!

How I live my faith

I play the organ for my congregation in our Sunday worship services. As I prepare during the week the words of the hymns remind me of the unconditional love our Savior Jesus Christ showed towards those He served. I try to follow his example by regularly visiting and watching out for women in our congregation. The fact that I'm a Mormon shows in every aspect of my life. It influences how I treat my family, how I dress, what kind of activities I do, how I see myself. Being a Mormon means that I know God is my Father in Heaven and everyone around me are my spiritual brothers and sisters. I know God loves them infinitely and so I try to see them through his caring perspective. Being a Mormon means that I know I can live in happiness with my family for eternity. So I try hard now to create positive relationships with them that I will want to have forever. Being a Mormon isn't a checklist of do's and dont's but it's a lifestyle and it's the little daily things in my life that are evidence that I live my faith.
