Hi I'm Klarissa

I grew up in Utah. I'm a college student. I love to dance. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a college student right now and I'm studying to become a math teacher. I enjoy school and work hard to get the most out of my education. I love to dance and have done it for most of my life and wish I had more opportunities to do it as a get older. I also like playing the piano, singing, and enjoying all sorts of music. Although I'm young and haven't done much to impact the world, I'm confident that I will change lives one day!

Why I am a Mormon

I've grown up as a Mormon, but I know that I've had to make the decision to stay in this church on my own. I know that my Heavenly Father loves me and knows me. His Spirit has comforted me in times of sadness, led me in times of confusion, and confirmed my peace and happiness in the good times. When I put the effort into seeking the Spirit, the teachings of this gospel never fail to help me and confirm to me that Heavenly Father knows me personally and knows what I need. An important aspect of this gospel, and something that I know is true,is the concept of eternal families. We believe that we can live with our families even after death and I know this is true. My dad passed away when I was 11 and I've felt the peace that I'll be with him again and I know that he is still watching over me. I've had experiences and have witnessed my family grow closer together through this rather than fall apart. I know that the prophets on earth are here to speak to me. We have scriptures that guide and bless us, but the words of the prophets and apostles are just as true as the words in the Bible or Book of Mormon. They are given revelation to guide us in these times, and I know that Heavenly Father uses these leaders to speak to me. I love this church and I love being a Mormon. Sometimes it is hard; there is no doubt about it, but the Lord has blessed me so much and has testified to me the truth of each aspect of the gospel that there is no way I can deny it. I have so much to learn still and I know the Lord will not fail me in my desires to come closer to Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I love the gospel. I go to church every week and work hard to fulfill any requests asked of me. In the past, I was in charge of planning activities for the girls in my ward and for other small groups in my ward. I love these activities because it's a time to get together with people I know and love where I can talk about life, but I also feel comfortable discussing my beliefs. I'm asked to visit women in my ward each month to see how they are doing, if they need anything else, and to share my feelings about the gospel with them. It's a great assignment that helps me build relationships with the people around me and it strengthens my testimony. I also work with a lot of other Mormons and get to talk to people on the phone about the church. Although that isn't the only thing I talk about at work, it's great to be able to feel the Spirit and be around such great people and learn how the gospel affects other people's lives too.
