Hi I'm Kaitlyn

I love to sing and perform. I'm ambitious. I love old movies and music. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been singing as long as I can remember, and have been heavily involved in theatre and the arts as well. I'm very big on movies, especially the old black and white films. I'm studying voice and nutrition at the university level. I'm very ambitious and driven. I graduated high school with my Associate's of Science, and feel that my education is very important. I come from a big family and love the atmosphere that it created for me growing up. Thus, I look forward to having a family of my own someday. I love to bake/cook and try new foods. I want to travel the world and experience and learn to love as many different cultures as possible. I'm a girly girl who loves to get dressed up and look her best.

Why I am a Mormon

Though I may have grown up in the church, I am not a Mormon simply because it is what was handed to me. I am a Mormon because I know that this is the true and restored church of God, our Father, and his Son, Jesus the Christ. This church has brought so much joy and peace to my life and has helped me through the toughest and darkest hours. It has guided me in my decisions, and has refined me in a way that nothing else can. As I strive each day to live up to the standards that I have been taught all my life, I can feel the presence of God in my life. I can feel His love for me, His daughter. I can sense His joy as I make righteous decisions. And as I falter and err, I can feel His love and compassion, His endless mercy and forgiveness for my mistakes as I sincerely repent of my misdeeds. I know that he loves me, and wants me to return to live in his presence, and I know that he has given me the tools to do just that, these tools being The Book of Mormon, The Bible, modern day prophets and revelation, the commandments, church meetings and leaders, and more. He loves each and every one of His children here on this Earth, and He feels their pain, their joy, their loneliness, their frustration, their excitement, and everything that we experience. It is through our Savior and Redeemer, Jesus Christ, that we can be saved. Because of His sacrifice, we are able to return to live with our Father in Heaven. He loves us as well. He is our brother, and gave everything possible, just for us. I am a Mormon because this is a church of compassion, of love, of understanding, and of forgiveness. Through my faith, I know that I can be made clean. My sins will be forgotten as they are washed away upon my repentance. I know that this is the true church. I can feel this confirmed to me each time I read my scriptures, attend my church meetings, repent of my sins, pray, and share my testimony. All this and more is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I love my ward, and I love going to church! I taught a class of 5-6 year olds for a period of time, and couldn't think of a more rewarding or enjoyable position to be put in! Those children taught me more than I know I ever taught them. I've helped with church-organized community service projects and have participated at numerous such events. I love going to ward activities and parties and getting to know the people in my neighborhood. I also love the chance that I get to be taught at home by different people in my ward, and to go out and teach different women in my ward as well. Getting to spend Monday evening with my young single adult ward for family home evening each week was always a great way to make new friends and to be taught by my peers. I've learned so much by going to such activities, and have enjoyed being able to help plan them and to even teach at them at times. My faith is such a integral part of my life and influences everything that I do for the better. It has helped to make me the person I am today, and it is something that I try to live to the best of my abilities each day.
