Hi I'm Jacob

I grew up in Utah. I love movies, music, friends, and my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I just graduated from high school this year and I will begin serving an LDS mission on August 21st. I will be serving in the Finland Helsinki Mission. I love hanging out with my friends and my family. Whether we go skiing or just watch a movie, I love spending time with people I care about. I really enjoy movies and music. I like a wide variety of music. The only kind I don't really like is country music. I really like emotional and meaningful movies. I also enjoy doing recreational activities, ranging from boogie boarding to skiing. I like almost all sports, and I enjoy playing them with my friends and family members.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the LDS church. My parents always made it a priority to take me to church each week and teach me about the LDS faith. I went to church with them, but never really knew if it was true or not. When I was in high school, I made many mistakes. I drifted away from living the gospel, and I found that I was unhappy. I was almost never happy, and finally, I decided to do something about it. I started living the gospel once more, and I stopped my bad habits and replaced them with good ones. Almost immediately, I started noticing a difference in my life. I was happier all the time, and I got along better with my friends and my family. Especially in the last year, I have been reminded of the truthfulness of the gospel many times. My testimony of this faith has been strengthened to the point where I no longer have any doubts that the LDS church is true. I know that Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon through the power and with the authority of God. I know that Jesus Christ lived and that he suffered for my individual sins, temptations, and afflictions. I am filled with gratitude for the sacrifice he made for me, and for all mankind. I love this gospel and the impact it has made in my life. I know it is true.

How I live my faith

I have held several leadership positions within my ward. I have been a secretary for groups of young men ages 12-13 and 16-18. While in this position, I made sure the groups of young men knew what activities we were doing each week and kept a written record of the meetings of the leadership. I also make sure that my peers know of my testimony and beliefs by using social networking sites, such as Facebook and Twitter. I make sure my friends I spend time with know my beliefs and my standards.
