Hi I'm Heather Huntsman

I love spending time with my family, laughing, having fun, playing games. I am a Chemistry student AND I am a Mormon :)

About Me

I was born and raised in Idaho Falls to the most wonderful parents and the best siblings in the whole world! Family means everything to me. I grew up trying out different sports, but soon came to realize my passion for soccer. I love anything outdoors: four-wheeling, jet skiing, surfing, boating, snowboarding, tubing you name it! I love crafting and photography. And I LOVE MUSIC! There is just something about a couple notes and a simple phrase, whether it be played on piano, or guitar. I attended BYU-Idaho for 1 year studying Chemistry, and I am currently serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Birmingham, Alabama.

Why I am a Mormon

This gospel is everything to me. It is who I am and who I desire to become. I was lucky to be born into an LDS family, but I still had to find out if this was true. I already knew that Jesus Christ suffered for us, out of pure and honest love. But in my personal search for truth, it all came down to knowing whether or not the Book of Mormon is true. And it is. The more I studied, the more I came to know. Through that desire to know truth, I gained a conviction that this is Christ's church. I am a daughter of a loving Heavenly Father; He loves me and desires me to return to Him. I know that Joseph Smith is a prophet called of God and that through the power of God, The Book of Mormon was translated. I know that President Thomas S. Monson is a prophet, called of God in these Latter-days to lead and direct this church. I am so grateful for my Savior. He knows everything that I have been through. He is my ultimate coach and my best friend. I am so grateful for everything He has done. I love this gospel. Without it, I have nothing. With it, I have everything. Love, faith, comfort, happiness, family, joy, hope and peace.

How I live my faith

I strive to live my life so that others can tell just by looking at me that I love and know that Christ is my Savior. I desire to have his image in my countenance daily! While at home, I do all that I can to help the sisters in my ward, through service any many other things. While up at school, I have served as a Family Home Evening Coordinator for my FHE group of young single adults . My responsibility was to plan activities and lessons that we would have every week on Monday nights, and that was a blast!!! I try to serve in whatever capacity that I can because it is what brings true happiness. Currently, I devote all of my time to serving others and teaching them about our Savoir Jesus Christ and about His restored gospel. It has been such a blessing!!!

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Heather Huntsman
Missionaries want to bring others happiness! We are called to serve in whatever capacity we can to help God's children. This gospel has brought me so much happiness, so much peace, and so much comfort. Why wouldn't I want to share it with everyone else? And what an awesome opportunity it is to be a Full-Time Missionary doing just that! Volunteering for 18 months straight, dedicated to serving God, who gives me everything. It is the best blessing I could ever ask for! Show more Show less

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Heather Huntsman
Study it out for yourself! Sincerely ask God in prayer if this Church is true. He will never lead you astray. He loves you so much! If you go to him with prayer, seeking an answer, he WILL give it to you! He blesses you with the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost is there to help you find answers. He speaks to your heart and your mind. He will make these things known unto you. Show more Show less

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

Heather Huntsman
They will address any concerns or questions that you might have about the Mormon Church. They will share a wonderful message with you about the Church of Jesus Christ. They will teach you more about His life, His sacrifice - also known as the Atonement, and His wonderful gospel and how it brings us happiness. Show more Show less

Why do Mormons baptize their new members?

Heather Huntsman
We are baptized by someone who holds the power of God - priesthood authority it's called. In the Bible, Jesus travels many many miles to be baptized by John the Baptist. There were many other men that were baptizing others along his travels, but He continued on until He got to John. John had that power of God - priesthood authority - given to him. Christ is the perfect example and we should all strive to be like Him and live like He did. When we are baptized, we promise to God that we will commit ourselves to live like Christ did. We are forgetting the past, and dedicating our future to keeping his commandments and enduring to the end so that we can return to live with our Heavenly Father again one day. Show more Show less
