Hi I'm Spencer

I grew up in Utah and I love all things Mother Nature. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I'm the third child of eight in a crazy single parent household. I've love hiking, running, snowboarding, and my dog, Mimsi. I just finished my senior year of high school, where I participated in football, wrestling, and Student Government. I will attend college in the fall of 2015, after I leave on a 24 month mission to Argentina.

Why I am a Mormon

I first finished the Book of Mormon for the first time in 2008. I vividly remember closing the book and praying to our Father in Heaven if it was true. I remember a total warmth enveloping my body, telling me that it was true. Since then, I have gone through some troubling times. I've often struggled with my own weaknesses, but when my Dad was booked into prison for a few years, I almost lost all hope. I was really scared for my family and how we would survive. But then I realized that by relying on the gospel of Jesus Christ, I was able to maintain happiness and security. I now read the Book of Mormon everyday, and it is the key to my peace and understanding. Simply put, I am an active Mormon because through this organization, I have found peace and understanding from my Heavenly Father during my struggles.

How I live my faith

Recently, I was a leader of a group of 16-18 year old young men. Each week, we would meet at our church for a youth group activity called mutual. We would participate in various fun activities that were focused on living the gospel standards and having fun at the same time.

What blessings can you receive from reading the Book of Mormon, the Bible, and other scriptures?

Spencer
I believe that the Book of Mormon is the word of God revealed to those on earth, as are the bible and other scripture. By reading and thinking about what is written in these books, I can feel the Holy Ghost. The scriptures are full of stories that are parallels to my own life, and by reading them they help me to face my own trials with faith and courage because I know that others have faced harder and more difficult times, and prevailed. Bottom line, by reading the scriptures every day they help me have holy thoughts and actions, and I learn more about Christ and the gospel every time I read! Show more Show less
