Hi I'm Nate Slack

I grew up in South Salt Lake. I've been called to serve in the El Salvador Santa Ana/Belize mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a class of 2013 high school graduate and received my mission call 4th quarter of my senior year. I'm a big time sports fan and have high hopes of playing college baseball when I return home from my mission. I also played football and basketball growing up. In addition to playing sports, I love watching football, hockey, basketball, and baseball. I also played in my middle school band and got pretty good at the trumpet before it didn't fit into my schedule anymore. I've also learned to play the ukulele, music has become a big part of my life. I plan to study journalism when I head to college after my mission.

Why I am a Mormon

Both of my parents grew up as members of the church and I grew up the same way. I have seen how this church has positively altered lives, which is why I have chosen to remain active and serve a mission of my own. It brings happiness and relief to know about why we are here, where we all come from, and where we all go to after this life on earth. I have read the Book of Mormon and taken Moroni's challenge found in Moroni 10:4-5, and the Holy Ghost has born witness to me that the book is true. Because the book is true, it also means that Joseph Smith was a real prophet of God, who saw Heavenly Father and his son, Jesus Christ, when he was just14 years old. I know that this church brings joy to all those who believe in and follow the commandments that have been given to us as we attempt to return to the Celestial Kingdom to live with our Father in Heaven once more.

How I live my faith

I grew up strong in the church and have held quite a few leadership responsibilities in the young mens program growing up. I've been president, 2nd counselor, and 2nd assistant. I also do hometeaching with my dad on a monthly basis to a couple of different families in our ward.
