Hi I'm Jason

I grew up in Idaho Falls, ID. I like swimming, listening to country music and being with friends. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

There are a few things I would like to tell you about myself. I come from a family of seven children. I lived my entire life in Ammon, Idaho, prior to serving a mission. I have maintained and restored a few different cars, lettered on the high school swim team, and worked a few jobs during high school. I love automobiles, and enjoy working on them with friends and family. I was the only boy at home growing up, and I learned to take care of the cars and recreational vehicles. I enrolled in automotive classes in High School to teach me advanced reparation and restoration skills. A few acquaintances have had cars that they have needed help with, and I was able to help from those skills I learned at school. I swam on the High school Swim club for three years, During those three years I placed in the top 16 of the State of Idaho in individual events. I was also on many relay teams that placed in the top 5 of the state. Working hard during that sport has taught that dedication and hard work have made me a better swimmer.. Working hard is the the best skill that I have learned over the last few months.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon by tradition, but a disciple of Jesus Christ by choice. I grew up in the church it was always the "good thing" for me to do as I was growing up. But then came the time I needed my own testimony of the church and the teachings there of. I had to make a choice wither or not to follow the teachings of the church, or to go on and do my own thing. I was preparing to serve in the church as a full time missionary, and to be a missionary you need a testimony or those two years away from your family are going to be a long time to be away. I followed the teachings of an apostle in our church Robert D. Hales, "...When we want to speak to God, we pray. and when we want Him to speak to us, we search the scriptures." So I downloaded a scripture app. and started to listen to it everywhere I went, I needed to know if it was true. So I read and prayed a lot. It was about a week before I left and I was the only person at home, so I got sick of watching T.V and went for a drive at about 2 a.m in the morning and the place I ended up was in front of the temple in Idaho Falls. All lit up and shining and I prayed. I prayed for protection, I prayed to know if what i was planning was right, again, I prayed to know if I was good enough to go, I prayed to know if the scriptures I was reading were true. That is when I got the testimony that I have today. I am Mormon because the Book of Mormon is true. I can not deny the witness from the Holy Ghost that day. The Book of Mormon has brought me more peace then I can fathom. It teaches all about Jesus Christ and His gospel, the commandments that we must follow to come back to live with Him, it teaches there is a loving God for all!

How I live my faith

I have not always lived my faith to the fullest extent possible. As I was growing up, I always thought the church was a bunch of rules and guidelines, I was suppose to live to get a long with my family and people around me. But that has all changed has I read the Book of Mormon and prayed about it. Now I Live my faith not only as a set of guidelines, but as a way I can progress toward my father in heaven that loves me. I repent and try to become better because of the things I have learned from the Book of Mormon, and the truthfulness of it. I want to live my life to be clean and better and that is the way I have learned to do so. I also am on a 2 year mission for the church that is another way I live my faith is by sharing it with others, because of the happiness it brings me I want others in my life to know where to find lasting happiness and eternal joy.
