Hi I'm Kim

I am a convert to the church. I am a mother of three children. I am a vocalist in an acoustic band. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I was introduced to the church and was baptized at 19 years of age. The gospel rescued me from an uncertain and deeply shadowed path. I learned about the worth of a soul, even mine. Five years later, after many corrections in my trajectory, hundreds of silent and spoken prayers and much time spent repairing the damage I had previously done to those in my life. I was brought to my blessed eternal companion. With him I became possible. He taught me how to love as the Saviour does. I've learned through practicing the principles of the Gospel, that Heavenly Fathers plan offers peace and happiness. I've accepted that the Atonement of Jesus Christ grants that I am never alone in my joys, pains, grief, sorrows and even my sin. The Gospel of Jesus Christ just makes me who I am, it invites me to be not just better but my best. I don't always achieve that but that is the beauty of His Plan, I can go back and pick up where I left off.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was young I had no dreams that I recollect, I honestly never thought I'd live past 25 years old. The Gospel was like a beacon in the dark and lonely world I lived in. My heart ached and longed to be loved and to be important and cherished. I thought that was a privilege that only belonged to others. The Gospel of Jesus Christ as it is established on the earth today, offered me a plan and path. This path was not dark and not shrouded with uncertainty but bathed in light and honesty and I could be accompanied by a guide with a roadmap and instructions that could be revealed to me personally. From the day I entered the waters of Baptism I was no longer lost and would never be alone again unless it was my choice. I looked around me when I joined the church and saw so much love and learning and although no life was pain free, there were Brothers and Sisters to help lift your spirit and a place to go to leave the world outside the door and feel the very presence of the Lords and obtain strength and courage to face and overcome all obstacles.

How I live my faith

My current calling in our Ward is as Ward Choir Director. Music has always been the most prevalent part of my life and I've been involved many times in the past teaching the Youth and the Children of our Ward. I sing where ever I go and with anyone who will sing with me.I love finding unique and surprising ways to present our sacred hymns and music, I guess Ward Choir Director ties all these things together. I also love teaching Sunday School and often get called to do it at the last minute due to my "fly by the seat of my pants" personality. Girls Camp for our Young Women is by far always on my calendar. The youth have a special spot in my heart. I love serving when I have the opportunity in any capacity.
