Hi I'm Louis

I love my family. I love the ocean. I love my savior Jesus Christ. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I've grown up around the ocean and I love it. I love to spend time on the water windsurfing, fishing, sailing, diving, stand up paddling, kayaking, etc. Throughout much of my teenage years I worked as a windsurfing and sailing instructor, where every day was an adventure. I love the ocean and all of the natural beauty here on Earth, and it helps me turn my thoughts to my savior Jesus Christ and my loving Heavenly Father. I grew up in Florida, but before leaving for my mission I spent a couple semesters studying at a university on the island of Oahu. I am currently a full time missionary and love it!

Why I am a Mormon

Both of my parents are converts to the Church, and so I was born into a family which embraces and lives the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. I am grateful for this, and for having been taught correct principles from a young age. However, just as my parents had to decide for themselves whether the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is true, I too had to decide for myself if the church is true and if it is something I want in my life. But through exercising faith and reading scriptures, attending church meetings, praying, etc. I have come to know for myself through the Holy Ghost that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is true. And that is why I am a Mormon. Through living the Gospel and following the commandments, I am happy and enjoy some of the blessings that our Father in Heaven is willing and ready to bestow upon us. I love my life and I love being a Mormon!

How I live my faith

I try to follow the example of my savior Jesus Christ in the way that I live my life. I know that the Lord needs me in Arizona, and so I've made the preparations and the sacrifices necessary so that I can serve a full time mission for two years. I've tried my best through the years to live a wholesome life so I could be best prepared for my mission, by doing things such as attending church, serving others, and doing my best to model my life after that of Jesus Christ. I enjoy serving people, and have served through various callings in the church. I am currently serving a mission where I am being provided with many opportunities to live my faith through helping others come unto Christ!

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Louis
No, we do not worship Joseph Smith. We worship God the Father, and His son Jesus Christ. Joseph Smith was a prophet, who did great things during his time on the Earth, and we respect him for that. And we are grateful for the life that he led, that through him the fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ was restored to the Earth! But we only worship God, our father in Heaven, and Jesus Christ, who suffered and died so that through his atonement we can be forgiven for our sins, and live with our families again after this life. Why is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints called Mormons or Mormonism?

Louis
The official name of our church is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Jesus Christ is the center of our church. We are Christians who believe in the Bible to be the word of God. And in addition to the Bible we believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God, it is another set of scripture that testifies of Christ. And it is because of our belief in the Book of Mormon that we have been given the nickname of "Mormons." Show more Show less
