Hi I'm McKayla

I grew up in a small Utah town. I love being outdoors. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Like I said before, I grew up in small town Utah. I love it here. I live at the base of the Uintah Mountains, and I take advantage of them at every opportunity. I attended and plan to once again attend Utah Valley University were I had the chance to be an ambassador. I loved giving tours and meeting all the perspective students. Currently I work for the Utah's Division of Wildlife Resources. I love my job!!! I work as a wildlife tech for our special species biologist. Highlights of my job include kayaking, bat catching, occasional helicopter rides, long days in the sun. (Needless to say, I don't really consider it work. . . but I still get paid.) I am the oldest of six children, and I must say that while I don't always like my siblings, I love them no matter what. Like me, my family loves spending time outdoors. We enjoy camping, horseback riding, basketball and board games. We love our board games. My poor father had to suffer for a long time, seeing as he had four tall blonde daughters before he finally got a boy.

Why I am a Mormon

"It is not about you ability or your inability, but about your availability. And if we prove our dependability, the Lord will take care of our capability." -Neil A. Maxwell I love the assurance that this quotes gives me. Sometimes when life is hard and I think about giving up, or I don't know if I can handle it all, I ponder on this quote. I am a Mormon because I truly believe this. I know that I have a father in heaven and that my brother Jesus Christ died on a cross 2000 years ago so that I could have the opportunity to live with them and my family again in a most glorious heaven. I know that if I am living my life in a righteous way that I can always have the Holy Ghost as my companion to guide and direct my life. I know that this promise is extended to every soul if they will reach out and take it. I know that God speaks to us today. I know that he uses modern day prophets as his mouthpieces. I know that the gospel was restored to this earth when a boy of fourteen went to pray alone in a grove of trees and there saw God, the father and Jesus Christ. I know that I can live and be with my family now and forever into the eternities. In essence, I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because I love it. I love the teachings, I love the feelings I get when I am living life right and when I am listening to the doctrine. I love the assurance that there is a plan for me. I love promise of forever families. But most of all, I love the knowledge that God loves me and he guides and directs my life.

How I live my faith

I love being involved with the church. "Friends are made, the spirit is felt, and faith is strengthened." (Thomas S. Monson) Currently as I college student I help make meals for special Sundays in our congregation, I attend classes designed for me to better understand my church and its teachings. Previously, I have been on youth committees for camping trips, pioneer treks, and parties for events like New Years.
