Hi I'm Casey

I am studying to become an English teacher. I am married to a medical school student. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in California with five brothers- that's right- and I wouldn't have it any other way! I attended Brigham Young University where I met my husband and graduated with a bachelor degree in Family Life: Human Development. After graduation, we moved to Texas so my husband could attend medical school. I worked for a little while, then decided I wanted to go back to school to get certified to teacher English. I am an avid reader. I especially love historical fiction. I would love to write a book someday. My husband and I enjoy photography. We have a lot to learn, but we have a lot of fun experimenting with our camera and editing software. I also love road trips, cooking, and the outdoors. My favorite date with my husband is going out to eat and coming home to watch a movie. Fall is my favorite time of year, from back to school to Christmas- the best day of the year! I am not a mom yet, but that is my fondest dream. We have been trying for 4 years and are grateful for all we have learned a long the way.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have discovered for myself that this is the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. I am a Mormon because I need the guidance of our modern day living prophet. I am a Mormon because I truly believe this is the best way to live my life to the fullest and to have the most joy. I am a Mormon because the world and all its mysteries make sense through the gospel. I am a Mormon because I want to be with my husband and my family forever.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith through service. I teach the 3 year old Sunday school class and assist my husband who serves primarily with the youth. I gain a lot from frequent scripture study- currently I am reading the Book of Mormon on my own and the New Testament with my husband. Prayer is the most personal way that i live my faith. It has allowed me to have a relationship with my Heavenly Father, giving me daily guidance and support.

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

Through temples built on the earth and priesthood power restored to worthy men, my husband and I have been sealed together for time and all eternity. Any children we have will likewise be sealed to us. My parents were sealed together, so I am also sealed to them. Our families will indeed be together forever in heaven. Temples also allow us to be sealed to family members who have passed on before any saving ordinances have been performed for them. We work through genealogy and temple work to ensure that we can be sealed to all of our ancestors. The knowledge that families can be together forever through the ordinances performed in the temple has been such a blessing in the past when I have lost loved ones. I know I will see them again someday. Show more Show less
