Hi I'm Patrick Ragragola

Aloha, I am from Hawaii and I've been LDS all my life. I have been called to the Philippines Baguio Mission.

About Me

I'm currently preparing to serve a mission in the Philippines. I recently graduated from high school and decided to serve a mission for my church. The Lord, Jesus Christ, has blessed me tremendously in my life and feel it my duty to give back a little of my time and talents in serving the people in the Philippines. I am excited, yet nervous, only because it is a brand new experience for me. I will live by faith until I gain some real life experiences and I am sure my nerves will go away.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because the teachings of this church are true! Jesus Christ came to earth during his lifetime and organized His church. He had the proper authority to do so and even called Apostles to assist His work. He taught the people then about saving principles and about ordinances that can help man come closer to God. His message was all about love, mercy and forgiveness. Today, He still heads this Church, has authorized his leaders to act in His behalf and have even given them the power of the Priesthood to do so. The Church has been reorganized under His direction through the prophet Joseph Smith and prophets, and apostles have been called to lead the affairs of His Church in these last days. Every saving ordinance for the living and the dead have been restored and enjoyed by all who have a strong desire for it and who embrace it. Their message continues to be about love, forgiveness and mercy and that a man will get closer to God by abiding by its teachings. The idea that "families are forever" is very important to me and I am grateful that death will only be a process in obtaining a life after this mortal existence. I am a Mormon because I have studied the teachings of this church then I have prayed and asked if what I knew was true. The Spirit has whispered deep in my soul that it was the correct way of life and I have enjoyed the fruits of this decision every day of my life. I invite you to do likewise. Contact a church representative and start your journey in seeing if all that I have shared is true.

How I live my faith

Having been born in the church, my life has always been centered on Jesus Christ. I was taught from a very young age in Primary that there is a God, our Heavenly Father, and a God, His Son, Jesus Christ, and a God, the Holy Ghost. Three separate beings with three separate functions. I am very grateful to know that they live and are real. My parents taught me about them in a loving home and I continued to be taught through dedicated leaders in our Church. The Young Men's program of the Church, which I was a part of for almost 7 years taught me about duty and sacrifices. The Boys Scouts of America taught me about duty to my country and for the need to be prepared. I attended early morning Seminary for four years prior to going to school and there I learned about my relationship with God. Who I am, where I came from and where I was headed to. Along the way, I was taught by loving leaders who gave up much of their time and talents to help me learn and grow and to develop into the person I am today. I am very grateful for them all. They have been outstanding examples in my life. Jesus Christ is my Savior. I am forever grateful to Him for the blessings I have received in the past, present and future and want to obey His command to all the fine young men in the Church to serve his people faithfully for two years. With His guidance and through the Spirit, I know I will do my best and have much success.

What are Mormon Temples used for?

Patrick Ragragola
I especially love the temples because here I have been sealed to my family forever. That means the love and happiness we share here will not stop at death but continue in our lives in our next existence. Show more Show less
