Hi I'm Dennis

Most important in my life are not things, but my wonderful family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy most sports, am an avid runner exerciser and a sucker for a sporting challenge. I strive to first be a good husband and father, although I often struggle to maintain the proper balance in life. My family includes my loving wife, four children, three girls and a boy, and thus far five grand children. I am a retired executive from Black & Decker. My career caused us to move often. We have lived in Burlington, VT, Austin Texas, Anaheim, CA, New Canaan, CT, Laguna Nigel, CA , Chicago, IL and Bountiful, UT. We are a closely knit family. We spend a lot of time together as an extended family. We are a family of traditions, which includes full celebrations around birthdays and extracurricular school activities and annual vacations of boating and water sports, snow skiing and some warm weather resort, which usually includes a beach.

Why I am a Mormon

The gospel of Jesus Christ answers the three great questions of life: Where did I come from? Why am I here? Where will I go after this life? It provides a purpose for life and gives me hope for a life after death, which includes families being together for ever. The gospel helps me better understand the reality and significance of the Life and Atonement of Jesus Christ. The holy scriptures which have come to help me better understand His life and atonement are, The Book of Mormon, The Book of Isaiah and the four Gospels in The New Testament. Through study and prayer, I have come to know that God, Our Heavenly Father, knows and loves me personally, regardless of my many faults, and hears and answers my prayers. In sincere prayer, I have had numerous spiritual experiences, which without a doubt have confirmed Father's existence, his involvement in my life and the truthfulness of The Bible and The Book of Mormon. Anyone, who with an open mind, will sincerely read and study these holy scriptures and seek God, Our Heavenly Father in earnest prayer, will receive the same spiritual assurances.

How I live my faith

Since, all is about the family, I strive to put my family first, which is to serve them. I believe service includes providing for their physical, emotional, educational and spiritual needs. Christ was once asked by a lawyer, "Master, which is the great commandment in the law? Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself." Matt 22:36-39 A prophet in The Book of Mormon taught: "And behold, I tell you these things that ye may learn wisdom; that ye may learn that when ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God." Mosiah 2:17 The Savior's life provided us with the role model to follow. Although I fall willfully short, I strive to follow His example and render love and service to my family and to my fellow men.
