Hi I'm Meridith

I grew up and live in Southern California. I am a high school theatre teacher. I'm a single adult, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I joined the Mormon church as a teen. The values and standards that are taught is really what drew me to the church. I have yet to have the blessing of marriage, so I am Single. As a teacher, however, I do feel that I have had the opportunity of being a mom. I do understand the thousands/millions of you out there that are in my same situation in life being single in a "family" church, but I am proud to know that I am a daughter of God, and He knows not only who I am, but what my situation is. I love working with teenagers, yes - teenagers. They always are vibrant and full of life, and they are inquisitive and willing to learn. I also love to go to the theatre. My favorite genre of play would have to be classical. I love Shakespeare, Oscar Wilde, and even Sophocles. I also enjoy scrapbooking. It is an interest that my family and friends share, so we get together as often as possible to spend time together and scrapbook. I do also have to mention that being from Southern California, that I do love Disneyland.

Why I am a Mormon

In my youth, I was always afraid of death. I guess, I was afraid of always wandering the unknown alone. Through the sealing power offered through the priesthood of God, I was sealed to my parents, my siblings, and many of my ancestors for time and all eternity. This is the major reason why I follow the gospel of Jesus Christ. I want to be with my family forever. I am now not afraid of death, and love the hope of the future with Jesus Christ. I know that I am a child of God, and that He loves me very much. I know that Jesus Christ died for my sins, and that His resurrection gives me hope for my life after death. I know that Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon - Another Testament of Jesus Christ to help me draw closer to my Savior, and I will be forever grateful to my childhood babysitter that introduced me to the Church.

How I live my faith

I try to love everyone I meet! I meet new people every year in my profession, and each one has a different personality, which is fun to get to know. I love to meet new people! In church, I am part of a women's group called Relief Society where I have the opportunity to meet and befriend women in our congregation. I also get to help prepare and participate in activities for single people in my area. In the past, I have also worked with the youth and helped with activities done in our congregation.
