Hi I'm Dayton Benson

I'm male, Middle class and white. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Gilbert, AZ. I played Lacrosse in high school for the Gilbert Tigers, and miss that. i am the oldest of three, and have a brother who plays Lacrosse as well, but he will probably be way better than i ever was. He had to learn from someone, Though! i currently am a missionary in Minnesota, i'm one of those guys that knocks on your door randomly. don't worry though, i'm easy to talk to. as far as i can tell anyways. i won't be doing this forever, if your'e wondering. we Mormons are pretty normal people, despite the fact that you see two of us out on bikes in rural areas in -20 weather. many of us (around 80,000 at the moment) volunteer when we are anywhere from 18 to our mid-20s to serve the Lord as missionaries. we leave home for two years and go to someplace we don't know, to work with someone we have never met. now if that sounds hard for an 18 year old, if is. but tell you what, there is nothing more rewarding than serving God all day every day. the blessings we get are enormous. someday, all missions end. we return home and become normal people again, don't worry. we aren't stuck on frozen bikes forever.

Why I am a Mormon

i am a Mormon because it fits. i grew up as a Mormon, both my parents are life-long Mormons and so are their parents (except one Gramma, but it's pretty close). i stay Mormon not because i want to please my family, or for anyone else. i am Mormon because i trust God. i love him, and love his word. i have read the Book of Mormon (look it up, it's sweet) and learned alot from it. i did what a writer in it said to do; read it, think about it and pray about it. that simple. i knew that the Bokk of Mormon was good, and "all good things come from God". i can't deny the feelings i have recived, even though sometimes it's hard to keep up with what God asks us to do. but because of what i know, i don't really fear anything, for God will provide.

How I live my faith

i live it by loving it! there isn't really much other way to put it. the church provides all sorts of stuff for us to do, like attending church, sunday school, and other less "churchy" and more fun activities during the week and throughout the year. For example, our church LOVES Christmas. in one place on my mission, the local congregation threw a Christmas party (they all do that, not just one of them) and i was dressed up as a wise man. that flattered me, seeing as i am not exactly the sharpest knife in the drawer. it was really fun to participate and try to answer questions to little kids. that was a blast. i also really enjoy people about the things i know regarding God and simaler topics. it makes my day when i can say something right for the person i am talking to, and i see it lift their day. it's not about money or fame or whatever else, it's about making the world a better place.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Dayton Benson
