Hi I'm Eliza

I enjoy running. I am a college student. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I just completed my first year of college, majoring in accounting. I enjoy spending time outdoors. I like camping, hiking, and pretty much anything else that involves the outdoors, including most sports. In High School, my favorite subject was always math. I always liked to be able to have an equation and be able to go through and find the answer to the question.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints or LDS, but that doesn't mean that I have not prayed to know the truth for myself. In fact, each time that I finish The Book of Mormon, I follow Moroni's promise found in Moroni chapter 10 verses 3-5. His promise is that if we ask God with a sincere heart and if we really want to know if The Book of Mormon is true that we will be able to fell that it is true by the power of the Holy Ghost. Each time that I have read and prayed about The Book of Mormon I have this peace wash over me and I have the feeling that it is right and the Church is true. And because I know that The Book of Mormon is true, I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet, that he restored the true church upon the earth. That we have living prophets today that give us guidance, just as the prophets in the Bible did. And to me that is truly amazing that we can receive what the Lord wants us to hear through His spokesperson.

How I live my faith

As a student up on campus, I participate in a Young Single Adult Ward that is a part of the campus. Being a part of this ward has allowed me to have unique experiences with the different responsibilities that I have been given. My most recent call was to be the teacher in an organization that we call Relief Society. Relief Society is the women in the LDS Church that are 18 and older. As a teacher, I was responsible for teaching the women once a month about a different Gospel principle. Another thing that I am responsible for is visiting teaching. Visiting teaching is a program where the women of the church go and visit other women of the church. As part of visiting teaching, women are given care over the people they teach, this means that they try to help them in any way possible. Visiting teaching has been such a unique experience for me to participate in. It has helped me see how the Lord makes sure that each one of His son's or daughter's are taken care of.
