Hi I'm Newell Stacey

I grew up in Utah. As an adult, my family and I have lived in Virginia, New Jersey, and Utah. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am married and my wife and I have five children. There are many ways I describe myself, but the ways that are most important to me are all related to my family: husband, dad, son, brother, uncle. I am also an engineer. I specialize in sonar and systems engineering. I love my profession. I have had various jobs and I have enjoyed them all.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I am a Christian. I have come to know through my life that Jesus Christ is my savior and that his teachings in the Bible and the Book of Mormon are true. I also know that living by His teachings makes us happy and gives us a sense of meaning and completeness in our lives. I have many friends who live great lives but do not share my beliefs. I have seen many of them seek Christ and find joy in worshiping and serving him. I do want to encourage all of my friends to learn about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Read the Book of Mormon, or talk to a missionary. I respect the beliefs of all, but I also believe that many people would find even greater joy and meaning in their lives if they learned more about the Book of Mormon.

How I live my faith

Over the years, I have served the Lord by serving other people in many ways. Recently I have served as a clerk to keep track of records that help ensure that everyone is cared for. I have also served the young people of our church recently. I also visit families monthly as a home teacher to bring a gospel lesson to their home and to ensure their families are doing well. In the past, I have served in many ways. Cub Scouts, scouts, teaching children or teaching adults. I feel that as long as I am serving other people, I am serving the Lord.
