Hi I'm Emily Bogdan

I'm a pre-PA BYU student, adventurer, blogger, runner, and ice cream lover. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I go to BYU, majoring in Exercise Science so I can go on to PA school. I want to focus in dermatology or pediatrics. I love hiking and going on adventures in the mountains. I like to snowboard. I run when I don't feel lazy. I am the oldest of four kids, and at home there we have a dog and a cat. I have a blog where I write about insights or moments in my life and draw out the scenes that better the story. My favorite movies are Tangled and the Lion King and The Proposal.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know this is Christ's true church! I have read the Book of Mormon and prayed about its truth. I received a "Yes" as an answer from my Heavenly Father. In some ways, that is the easy part, because once you know it is true, the lifestyle change happens next. One step at a time, I have accepted all parts of the gospel- from the Word of Wisdom, to the Law of Chastity, to modesty, to tithing. Some topics definitely took some praying to figure out what I believed it, and to figure out what was culture and what was commandment. This gospel and the choices that it encourages me to make has brought me so much happiness, and helped me avoid so many problems that come with poor choices. I continue to live like this because I know it's what Heavenly Father wants me to do.

How I live my faith

I am visiting teaching supervisor for my ward! I collect reports for the Relief Society president (woman in charge of the women of the ward), so she can report to the Bishop. I make sure to know the status of the girls that I'm in charge of so I can pass it on to the Relief Society president, if necessary. I participate in ward activities, indexing nights, and Family Home Evening. I also participate in my faith by attending Sacrament Meeting, Sunday School, and Relief Society on Sundays. I've also had the opportunity to be a counselor for youth camps, where I share messages about Christ in devotionals that we have each night.
