Hi I'm Jon

I live in Boise, Idaho. I am a happy husband and father of four. I am an author, have a business, and love Tae Kwon Do.

About Me

I am very happily married, and a Dad of four beautiful children. My day job is as a Security Program Manager for a high tech company. I really enjoy writing and am currently working on a novel. My wife and I do a health and wellness business together. Recenlty, I received my black stripe in Tae Kwon Do and plan to be a black belt by May 2013.

Why I am a Mormon

The world has many paths to choose from. The reason I choose to follow the path I do and be an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is because I know in my heart that the Book of Mormon is the word of God, that Joseph Smith is a prophet of God, and that the principles taught in this church lead to happiness and peace. I know this for myself because I have put in the work. In my opinion, you cannot really know something is true unless you act. The actions I have performed are as follows. I have read the Book of Mormon and asked God if it is true. By the power of His Holy Spirit, God has told me it is true and you can know this too if you will read and ask with an open mind. There is so much more to life than the pursuit of fame, wealth, or pleasure. What I find especially sad is that so many people get caught up these types of pursuits and never understand who they really are. Each of us is a child of God with incredible capacity for good. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is helping me to become the person God intended me to be.

How I live my faith

Currently I am learning a lot by serving in our church by leading a group of about forty men that range in age from about 30-80 years old. I am responsible for planning service opportunities, activities, and weekly Sunday lessons for this group. I also represent these men in various weekly discussions with other leadership in our congregation. I am amazed at the experience and talent of the men I have the opportunity to work with and really care about each of them.
