Hi I'm Rachel

I love anything related to nutrition and exercise. I have cerebral palsy. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in the lovely state of Oregon. I am married and have a wonderful daughter. I work as a dietitian. I was born with minor cerebral palsy. Staying active through dance, yoga, and running has helped me stay mobile and flexible. I enjoy learning about anything related to nutrition, diet, and exercise. I'm always curious what new trends are popping up in the health field. I also enjoy spending time with my family, reading fiction, and crocheting.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church but I did not always practice my faith. I stopped going to church as a teenager. From my teens into college I knew in the back of my mind that I should return to church. Finally, during my junior year of college I started going back to church. I was really nervous about going but on my first Sunday attending church I was greeted by friendly faces. Since coming back to church I have asked in prayer and received confirmation for myself that I made the right decision. Nothing else in my life has brought me this much happiness and peace. I cannot imagine going through life's challenges and not having something to rely upon to help get me through those struggles.

How I live my faith

I enjoy attending church every Sunday. After coming home from church I always feel invigorated and ready to take on the challenges of the upcoming week. One Sunday each month I have the pleasure of teaching the women at my church. I love this time because we have great discussions about God's infinite love for us, our role as women in strengthening and raising our families, and how to apply God's teachings into our lives. I loving hearing about others' perspectives on different spiritual topics.
