Hi I'm Hali

I'm a student at Utah State University. I love going on adventures. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a sophomore in college, studying nutrition and playing on the club lacrosse team. I love hiking, running, skiing, traveling, reading, learning new things, and being with my friends and family. I joined the LDS Church in April 2013. I would like to visit all 50 states someday, and travel the world. Eventually, I would like to settle down and raise a family, but for now I am having fun and finding myself.

Why I am a Mormon

I began reading the Book of Mormon out of curiosity. I prayed for guidance, and met a set of missionaries a few days later. I took discussions and was baptized at the end of April. I have grown up in a Mormon community, with Mormon friends, but never truly understood until I ventured out on my own. I am a Mormon because I have read the Book of Mormon and believe it to be true. I believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God, as well as the Bible. I believe that the Holy Ghost is our constant companion, and helps guide us if we listen to the promptings we receive. I am a Mormon because I love the feeling I get when I read my scriptures or say a prayer. God is here for us always, and He is always listening. He knows us, and loves us dearly. I am a Mormon because I believe this with my whole heart, and have experienced His influence in my life many times.

How I live my faith

I strive to live my faith every day. I write in my journal, study a chapter from my scriptures, and say a prayer every night before I go to sleep. I try to be a good example to those around me, by following God's commandments and the Word of Wisdom. I also love swapping stories or scripture references with friends and listening to music that makes me feel light and happy.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Hali
No one is required to serve a mission, it is a choice. Members who are called on missions choose to serve because they have prayed about it and felt that it is the right thing for them to do. Many missionaries go out because of the happiness the gospel brings missionaries in their own lives, and they wish to share that happiness with others. Show more Show less
