Hi I'm Jessica

I live in Los Angeles. I am a dental hygienist. I love a great adventure. I am proud to say that I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love being active. I played soccer for the greater portion of my life and now my sport of choice is basketball. I am from California so yes I am a Lakers fan. I am one of 7 children and love being an aunt to 9 nieces and nephews. When I am not cleaning people's teeth as a dental hygienist, I love to be outside: running, hiking, rock climbing, canyoneering, SCUBA diving, camping, going to the beach, wakeboarding, tubing, skiing, snowboarding, and doing anything to get my adrenaline pumping. Lake Powell is my favorite place on Earth and I want to travel the world!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a house where the Gospel was shared with me every day. I was baptized when I was 8 years old with full conviction that I was doing the right thing. I did not know all the answers or information about the Church and I still don't; but I knew and still know enough that I know the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is true. Now 16 years later my knowledge and conviction of this Gospel continue to increase every day. I know that my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ love me and are looking out for me. I am a Mormon because I know it is true. I have read the Book of Mormon many times and have a felt a happiness and peace that cannot be explained unless you read it and feel it for yourself. I know that this Earthly life is temporary and I am excited to one day be able to live with my Heavenly Father again.

How I live my faith

I do my best to read the scriptures every day, attend church every week, and be an example everywhere. Being an active member of this church is not a Sunday only event, it is a lifestyle. I am far from perfect but Heavenly Father doesn't expect perfection. He expects me to do my best and to continually strive to serve others and do what is right. When I do I know he blesses me. I strive to follow the commandments and uphold my standards wherever I am. Growing up in a place with few Mormons around me I have learned that people are watching what I am doing even when I don't realize it. I was often known as "the Mormon girl" at work but I can only take this as a compliment. I was given this nickname because I was always honest, I abstained from putting poisons in my body, and did the right thing simply because it was right. Choosing the right is not always easy but it is always worth it.
