Hi I'm Chance

I am a student, an athlete, a Mormon, and a Missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

About Me

I lived on a farm in Hooper Utah for several years until we moved to Kaysville when I was 13 after my mom got remarried. My father passed away from an automobile accident while teaching at Utah State University when I was 10 years old and my Step-dad's wife also passed away from brain cancer. I was the youngest of 6 children, my step-dad had 8 kids and all of them are older than me so now I am the youngest of 14 kids with currently 26 nieces and nephews with 1 on the way. I love sports and being active. I went to Davis High School in Kaysville where I played football, basketball, soccer, and ran track. I am serving a full-time mission in the Pennsylvania Philadelphia Mission, after which I will return home to Utah State University where I will pursue my Academic and Football career.

Why I am a Mormon

My family is the most important thing to me which makes being a Mormon a wonderful blessing. I will miss my family while serving a mission, but it will all be worth it because I will be helping others come closer to theirs. I love this church with all of my heart and there is nothing else that I would rather be doing with my time than serving my God with all of my Heart, Might, Mind, and Strength. I know that Jesus Christ is the Savior of the World, and that Joseph Smith is His Revelator and Prophet in these last days and that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the Lord's Kingdom, once again established on the Earth; and that by following it's teachings, we can find peace and happiness in our lives, even through the most difficult of times.

How I live my faith

I live my faith in a way that led me to becoming a missionary. And I am a missionary to bring the message of a perfected Hope and Love that Christ has given us throught the Gospel and most specifically the Plan of Salvation. I know that through the power and love of my Savior Jesus Christ and His Atonement, or Sacrifice, I am capable of all things. Being a missionary is the greatest thing that I have ever experienced and through helping others develop their relationship with Jesus Christ, mine has grown as well.

Why don’t Mormons drink coffee, tea, or alcohol? What is the Mormon Church’s law of health and proper diet?

Two of the greatest gifts that we have been given from God are our bodies, and our free agency or our ability to choose. As Mormons, we try to take care of both of these gifts from God to the best of our ability. This is why we try to avoid substances that are harmful to the body or anything that can be addicting. God's commandments are designed for us to keep the most possible Agency that has been given us and also give us the greatest degree of happiness. I know that as we follow God's commandments, we receive blessings from God. I am so glad that I was raised in a substance-free home and would encourage all people everywhere to try to live in a similar manner. Show more Show less
