Hi I'm Kallin

I grew up in Wyoming, moved to Utah and recently returned from serving a full-time mission in Ethiopia. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I love going swimming, I swam on the Swim Team for my local High School. I love Ultimate Frisbee and basically anything that involves the outdoors, including camping. I am a brother to 3 sisters and 2 brothers. Also I love being an uncle to my 2 nieces and 1 nephew. I recently returned from a full-time mission in Ethiopia where I grew a love for the people of Africa. I am attending University studying to become a Pediatrician.

Why I am a Mormon

I choose to be a Mormon because of the way the Church of Jesus Christ has changed my life. I have seen many blessings and miracles in my life as a result of the Priesthood Authority of God. When I play sports, I have seen Heavenly Father magnify my strengths and caused me to perform greater than I could on my own. I feel happy every time I think of how forgiving, loving, and merciful my family is to me as a result of living the teachings of Jesus Christ. My testimony of this gospel didn't come merely because my parents have told me that it is true.Rather, I have a testimony because I have prayed and found out for myself. I know that this church is true because of the countless blessings I have seen. The influence that the Bible and the Book of Mormon have had in my life have really changed my life. I am more patience with my brothers and sisters, I am more kind to my friends, I am not afraid to share what I know, and I have been blessed in every aspect of my life. I know that as we live our life the way the Savior lived His life, we will receive the same joy and peace that the Savior received and promised us in return. This is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

The best way I love sharing the gospel is through the way I live. I love showing others the happiness that I feel and especially love answering questions about the gospel. I have been called to teach the youth in my church and teach them of the love that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ have for them. There are plenty of opportunities to show people that I am always first and foremost a friend to them. The Church of Jesus Christ provides so many opportunities to do good and to show others your love. I haven't found a place where there is more love shown to me. I was raised in a loving family where I felt the love of my Heavenly Father continually and constantly. I know that families can be together forever and can live in peace and harmony. I am striving to improve myself everyday because I know that I have weaknesses.

Why don’t Mormons drink coffee, tea, or alcohol? What is the Mormon Church’s law of health and proper diet?

The things we eat and drink have a profound effect on our thoughts and actions. The Lord knew this when giving the Word of Wisdom to the prophet Joseph Smith. The Word of Wisdom is the law of health concerning the things that we should partake of. Some of the things the Lord has forbidden in that law is tobacco, alcohol, coffee, and tea, and substances such as illegal drugs. The biggest reason why we don't partake of those things is that the Lord commanded it. Another reason to keep the law of health is to keep a healthy mind and a strong body. These substances can damage our body, mind, and spirit not allowing us to think clearly or act normal. The Lord doesn't want us to rely on any substance for our happiness. Show more Show less

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

The Atonement is more than what anybody can put into words on a page. However it is the most important event in the world. The Atonement was the suffering of Jesus Christ in the Garden of Gethsemane and on the cross for our mistakes, weaknesses, sins, and problems. He suffered for us so that He might be able to feel as we do through our daily trials, so that He could understand how to grant us mercy. One day we will be judged of the mistakes that we have made and of our disobedience. The Atonement of Jesus Christ makes it possible to repent so when we face God during judgment, we will not feel guilt for the things we have done wrong. Rather we will stand with clean hands and a pure heart and eventually live with our Heavenly Father, but only if we repent. In short, Jesus Christ suffered so that we wouldn't have to. As we come to Jesus Christ and humble ourselves before him we can receive strength in our deepest weaknesses, find relief in the hardest of trials, discover hope when it seems despair reigns, and ultimately obtain the happiness that every person yearns for. Jesus Christ made it all possible for us through his Atoning sacrifice. Show more Show less
