Hi I'm Tara Scott

I am about to serve a mission in Russia. I am in college majoring in Elementary Education and Theater. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am one of seven children and have lived in Houston since I was ten. I currently go to college and am majoring in Elementary Education and minoring in Theater which I have been doing for around 9 years. I am about to leave to serve a mission in Russia. Aside from Theater I also enjoy playing sports particularly volleyball, soccer, and swimming.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because honestly it just makes sense to me. I have learned a lot about other religions, and yet there is always at least a few pieces of doctrine that I disagree with. This is the only church I have ever looked at and everything seems to fit together. I think a big selling point to me is the idea of prophets. It makes sense that since God is the same "yesterday, today and forever" that he would not decide to completely eliminate prophets as a way of communicating to the people here on Earth. He would be consistent. If we needed prophets way back at the beginning of time, why would we suddenly not need them any more? It makes more sense that we would still have a prophet here today, someone to constantly let us know the will of the Lord. Another big point is the thought that we can be together with our families forever. I have a huge family, and often they annoy me. However, I love them all so much that I cannot picture forever without them. I love that we have the opportunity to be with them forever.

How I live my faith

In the church I have had a variety of duties. These have included getting the music arranged for our meetings, organizing youth and young single adult activities, as well as teaching Sunday school for kids between the ages of 8 and 10. I also have the responsibility to go out once a month at least to visit a few of the other women who live in my area and to teach them a short lesson as well as provide them with any help that they may need.
