Hi I'm Elder Spencer Jones

I live in Herriman Utah. I love life and helping people! Im a fierce advocate of always having a positive attitude. Its worth it!

About Me

Im Spencer jones, I was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, and I've lived there for most of my life. I've been brought up in the church so its always been a very big part of my life. I lived in Salt Lake City for 12 years then I moved to Santiago, Chile for 3 years. I learned to speak spanish, but mostly I learned a lot about what was most important to me. While I was there I found that families were the best things a person can have in their life. Only my parents and my sister were with me in Chile while my other 3 siblings lived in the USA. It really was a big struggle for us because we had always been such a supportive/Tight-knit family, and having this divide was one of the toughest trials for my family and I. The best thing I learned from this experience is that my family is the most important thing to me. Im a person who likes to do all sorts of things, but I have to be with someone to do it. I'm a people person, and being with people really is a joy for me. IM actually serving a full time misison in the Australia Sydney South Mission. I have just realized that I havent talked about many of my interests, but all what you need to know about me is that I love Beautiful music. (I love Movie Soundtracks a LOT!) I also love movies. I mean I absolutely love movies because there is so much power in a good movie! What can I say. I just love movies! Other then that... I just love being happy! Whatever brings me bliss... Sweet, I really enjoy it! :) Life is just fantastic!

Why I am a Mormon

Why Im a mormon... Well its really been a lifetime of searching "Why Im actually a mormon." I was taught by my parents at first. My parents always cared for me and always had a home where there was love always. I come from a family of 5 kids and when you cram so many people into a 3 bedroom home... things can get a little hectic. Even though it was tense sometimes, my parents always tried to maintain a Home of love and peace. I was a person who went through the motions in the church, I was in the middle of utah where I knew no one but members of the church, so it wasnt difficult to be a member. When I just turned 12 my parents recieved a calling to serve as mission presidents in Santiago, Chile, and my life was turned upside down. I had never known anything else then utah. We had to learn a new language, and we had to make new friends. When I went to my school, I only knew 14 people in the entire school of 1200 people who were mormon. When I went to school I found that I was really happy all the time, because I found that really being in the church gave me reason to be happy, because the things in the church gave me hope that I could feel great only if I just did that right things. People always asked me "Why are you happy?" I'd always respond, "because of my church." So why am I a mormon? Simple. My life is where its at because of this church, and I can promise this same happiness to anyone who chooses to be mormon. Its a way that we can all find true peace.

How I live my faith

How do I live my faith... Simple! I just show it through being happy and kind to others! Christ taught that "Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me." So my goal is to really be kind to everyone I know. Im not a perfect person, but I know that I can at least try to be a perky person and make everyone elses day a brighter day. I try to treat everyone as I'd like to be treated. The world is really a sad place sometimes. I want to make it as bright as I can wherever I go. I love being happy too much and letting the world drag me down is not an option. Christ expects all of us to lift one another up, to find those souls that need comfort and help. I want to do that. I want those people out there that feel like there is no hope to know that they dont have to fear. As long as they hold their head high, there's no need to worry. Whatever thy part, do well thy part. So my goal is that wherever I am, Im going to try to help lift people up as much as possible. So I live my faith by spreading my faith through positivism and love. The world could use more smiles! :)

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Elder Spencer Jones
Knowing that Mormonism is true is really just searching the scriptures and the teachings that the church offers people. It took me a long time to really find out that the church was true, but it wasnt how I expected. Knowing that something is good doesnt come by just seeing it and saying "Its Good!!" Its like sampling ice cream, you wont know which one is the best until you actually go and taste a couple different ice creams. Knowing that mormonism is true is like sampling ice cream, you need to experience the church for yourself. A couple things you can do is reading the book of scripture known as the Book of mormon, and after reading it, go and pray to know whether its true. Sometimes knowing that the church is true takes time. The answer could come in a variety of ways such as a good feeling, a feeling of peace, or maybe a sudden urge to go do something nice! (I just wanted to go give someone a hug) but your answer will come to you in the way to will help you most. I promise that you'll find an answer if you pray. "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him" James 1:5 I challenge you to follow the instruction from this scripture, and to go and pray, because I know that if you want an answer to your question, you just need to ask.
