Hi I'm David

I was raised in Utah. I love mountains, rivers and horses. I play the piano. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Utah. My grandparents have a cabin in the Uinta Mountains where they have a couple horses. I love to spend time with and ride horses. They are amazing animals. I have spent some time on a cattle ranch in Arizona. I really enjoy the "old-school" lifestyle of living off of the land. Nature is God's gift to man. I also love music. I have played the piano since I was five years old and like to write my own music. I love water-skiing - especially at Lake Powell. I want to be a bush pilot while owning and operating a ranch in Ireland with my cousin.

Why I am a Mormon

Jesus says that He is the light and the life of the world. The Book of Mormon teaches that the love of God is more desirable than any other thing. I have come to know that these things are true. If you feel that there is a void or something missing in your life, it is the love of God. How you feel this love is by following the commandments God has set out for us. By living the gospel of Jesus Christ through the principles set out in the Bible and Book of Mormon I have felt the light of Jesus and the love of God come into my life. I am a Mormon because that is how I am most happy.

How I live my faith

I enjoy reading doctrinal books written by prophets and apostles. I am the first assistant to the Bishop over the sixteen to eighteen year old boys. Occasionally I lead the discussions in class on Sunday. I used to be on a youth council in which we planned, organized, and carried out activities for the youth in our area. I have been called to serve a full-time mission in Redlands California.

Why do Mormons perform proxy baptisms in their temples?

Jesus taught that strait is the gate and narrow is the way to eternal life. This means that only those baptized in Christ's name by someone with the proper authority can have eternal life, or a life like God has. A very small percentage of human population throughout all of time would have knowledge or access to baptism. How could God love all of his children if only a few could be baptized? That is why the Church of Jesus Christ has temples. In the temple, members of the Church who hold temple recommends can be baptized for those who never had the opportunity. Thus, all of the world may have an opportunity to enter into that strait gate. Show more Show less
