Hi I'm Emily Pack

I grew up in Urbandale, Iowa. I have just finished my first year of college and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been attending school in Idaho for the last year and I am majoring in Music Education with a choral emphasis. One day I would love to become a High School choir teacher. I love to sing! I can also play the piano, flute, and harp. I am going to be serving a full time mission in Southern Guayaquil Ecuador for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for the next eighteen months.

Why I am a Mormon

I have chosen to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because I know it to be the true church of Jesus Christ. I have always grown up with the church but I hadn't really gained a knowledge of it's truth until after I had read the Book of Mormon for the first time. I knelt and prayed to my Heavenly Father to have know for myself if this church was the true church and if I should keep living its principles. As soon as I had finished this prayer a feeling of peace and calmness filled my heart and soul. I knew these feelings to be from God. This feeling is why I choose to live the rules and guidelines of this church. I know it to be true and I would never deny it. I know that the Book of Mormon contains the words from God given to us in scripture. It is another testament of Jesus Christ. Before anyone can say that the LDS church is not of God they must read the Book of Mormon in its entirety. I love the spirit that I feel when I choose to do what is right and what has been commanded of God. I know that there is a living Prophet today who receives modern day revelation for the people of the Earth. I know that I can receive personal revelation from God to help make every day decisions. We all have been blessed with the ability to speak with our God above and I know that he hears and answers our prayers. I love this gospel and I love Jesus Christ and I say these things in his name Amen.

How I live my faith

I try to serve those around me any time that I can. I have been a part of a group called Kids Against Hunger and prepared packaged meals for people who are malnourished in the World. I have also served on a variety of planning committees for the LDS Church for the youth and single adults. These committees have planned and organized many different events for the youth and young singles.

Does The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints endorse political parties?

Emily Pack
No the Church does not support a certain political party or candidate. Each person is left to their free agency to make a decision on a political candidate. When choosing a person to guide and lead a country we take in mind the principles of the gospel in which we live and see if these are compatible with whom we choose. The church will never endorse anyone and the people of the church are free to make their own decisions. Show more Show less
