Hi I'm Katy Armknecht

Singer. Missionary. And Daughter of God.

About Me

Hey! I'm Katy! I have sung my whole life, I was my high school's choir president and I have been in plenty of Musicals, and I love it. I'm studying Communications with an emphasis in Public Relations, because I love business and I love getting to work with many different people. I enjoy sports of all types--playing and watching. I love to watch my teams, KU, BYU, and the Boston Redsox. I have a special love of basketball (probably because of my height.) I love to smile and to help others with anything really. I have a special desire to travel the world and I hope I get to in a close future. At this moment all of my life is on hold as I serve a mission for 18 months in Mexico.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon not just because I was born into this Religion but because I have grown to have a testimony of the truths of this church for myself. My dad is a convert to the church and is so strong in the faith, my mom was born into the church and has shown me her testimony daily. I remember that I was once having a hard time believing everything I had learned my whole life, but I wanted to believe the way my parents did. I was challenged to read The Book of Mormon by myself (instead of just family study) to see for myself why it was true. One day I read a verse--3rd Nephi 11:11--and I knew right then that Jesus is my Savior and Redeemer and that The Book of Mormon is true, how glad I am that I took that challenge because it brought me closer to my Savior then ever before. I know that I am a Daughter of God and that He loves me and wants me to be happy. I know that Jesus is the Christ and He is my best friend. He has felt all my pains, my sins, and my sorrows, so He knows how to help me, and He will. I know that my family is sealed together forever. I am so grateful for that because I love them and want to be with them forever. There are so many reasons why I am a Mormon, but to sum it all up I would say, I am a Mormon because it has given me the greatest peace and happiness then anything else, and I know that it can do the same for anyone.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving others in everything I do and by trying hard to see them as they are, sons and daughters of our Heavenly Father. As well as right now I get to live my faith by serving a LDS Mission to give back for so much that the Lord has given me.
