Hi I'm Rick

I grew up in Ogden Utah. I'm an Electro-Mechanical Draftsman/Designer, I'm a Silver Beaver Scouter, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My beautiful wife and I have been married for over 40 years, I am the dad of an Eagle Scout son & daughter-in-law, and a daughter and son-in-law who is also an Eagle Scout. Through my daughter and son-in-law I have a beautiful grandaughter who loves to play soccer. I graduated from Weber State College in Ogden Utah with an Associate of Applied Science degree in Electro-Mechanical Engineering Design. I have worked as an electrical, electronic, and mechanical engineering draftsman/designer for over 24 years for both engineering consulting firms and manufacturing firms from Salt Lake City to Logan Utah. I have tutored Algebra and Geometry as a volunteer, for the State of Utah, Juvenile Justice Services to youthful offenders who are in secure confinement. I have served as a Counselor to three Bishops, l have also served as the Ward Mission Leader. Most recently I served as a Youth Sunday School Teacher.

Why I am a Mormon

I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ on the earth today. I know that Jesus is The Christ, and through His Atonement we have the ability to repent and be forgiven of our sins. I know that through obedience to His Teachings and Commandments we can return to live with Him and our Heavenly Father with our family. I know that the Book of Mormon is another Witness of Jesus Christ going hand in hand with the Holy Bible. I know that through the gift and power of our Father in Heaven, Joseph Smith was able to translate the record (gold plates) of people living on the American Continents between 600 BC and 421 AD which became the Book of Mormon.

How I live my faith

Through the LDS Church I have been a part of the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) for over 40 years. Giving me an opportunity to learn how to be a leader, both as a youth participant and as an adult. This leadership training has also helped me in my career. I am a recipient of the Silver Beaver Award, the highest award from a local council given by the National Court of Honor of the Boy Scouts of America, for Distinguished Service to Youth in the Trapper Trails Council. I am currently serving in my ward (congregation) as the First Counselor in the Sunday School Presidency helping strengthen individuals' and families' faith in Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ, and helping Church members "teach one another the doctrine of the kingdom". I am also serving as a Committee Member of the Scout Unit our Ward has chartered with the Trapper Trails Council of the BSA.
