Hi I'm Gina

Being a Mormon is so FUN! It makes my life as a 57 year old wife, mom and grandma fulfilling and rich.

About Me

My life is the best chaos! Lots of people, lots going on, but nothing newsworthy. My sweetheart and I have been married 38 years and it feels like we breathe the same air with the same rhythm. We have seven grown children and 18 amazing grandchildren. One of the great blessings of my life was to be a full time mom while our children were growing up. Every day was and is entertaining, to say the least.

Why I am a Mormon

Being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the easiest, happiest, most rewarding path in the universe. Any effort we are invited to offer comes back to us multiplied many times. Commandments that sound restrictive to someone who has not previously considered them, actually open the door to more joy and comfort and freedom than can be imagined. But that is not why I am a Mormon. I am a Mormon because of a sacred communication through the Holy Ghost in answer to my earnest prayer. As a result of that witness from the Spirit, I know that the gospel of Jesus Christ was restored through the prophet Joseph Smith. I know that I have a Father in Heaven who is MY actual father of my spirit and that He knows my name and everything about me. I know that the Book of Mormon is a true book and a gift from a loving Heavenly Father.

How I live my faith

One of the miracles of a lay ministry is that it helps us to focus on ways to bless others rather than get overly myopic with our own trials or worries. I love being asked to serve in capacities for which I have no skill. After a time of sincere effort, capacity grows and many are blessed. Deep friendships are forged and empathy and care develop. In a tiny way, we learn to feel some of the pure love and desire for good that the Savior offers to each person. It's okay to be a weak instrument if the Master is in control.
