Hi I'm Heather Bennion

I grew up in Orem, UT. I was born and raised a Mormon but more importantly I choose to be one now!

About Me

I am a bubbly, fun-loving blonde who grew up in surburbian Utah. i come from a very large family with 11 brothers and sisters with 4 parents who raised us (they are divorced and remarried). I am a student at Brigham Young University studying to become a nurse. I love all things medical and the human body amazes me. I love playing all sports. I am currently putting my education on hold to serve a full-time mission as Sister Heather Bennion in the Philippines San Pablo Mission in the Tagalog language.

Why I am a Mormon

Although, I was born and raised as a member of The Church, a testimony of the truth has not come so easily. I have had to work for my testimony and gain it precept upon precept. What I love about the restored gospel of Jesus Christ is that not only does it touch my heart through the Holy Ghost but it also makes sense to someone as logical as I am. I know of no other church whose doctrine is as fair as is the LDS church. As I have worked to gain my testimony and struggled through knowing whether or not it is true, I have received the Holy Ghost testifying to me that it is through feelings and even physical experiences like the warm sensation or tingling all over my body. I know that is my soul feeling through my physical body telling me this is right. I know God is real and that He knows us. He loves us beyond our imaginations and that is what is so special. We as imperfect, selfish beings are loved perfectly. For that reason alone, that God loves us, is why He sent his son Jesus Christ to atone for our sins. I know the Atonement is real and I am so grateful for my Savior who allows me to use him as my intercessor of mercy. It has changed my life. It has made me a better person through using it to repent and then forsake that which I have done wrong. I know Joseph Smith restored the fullness of the gospel back onto the earth and he translated the Book of Mormon through the power of God. He truly was a prophet of God and I am so blessed to know. I have a testimony that families can be together forever through the sealing power ordinance in our temples. The temple is my favorite place on earth and it is truly my home. I am Mormon because of Christ. Through Him all things are possible and I plan on spending this life and eternity trying to repay Him for His sacrifice.

How I live my faith

I feel like I best live my faith by striving each day to act as the Savior would. I am always trying to be a better me and I love to pattern my life after Jesus Christ. I am trying to fulfill His commission to His followers to "15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature." Mark 16:15 so I have chosen to serve a mission so I can be a real representative of Jesus Christ and bear his name on my tag every waking hour. I also was raised to be service oriented and to participate in my local community in places like the food bank (thanks mama!).
