Hi I'm Amy Barson

I'm a wife and mother and I'm a Mormon! I work in accounting and love the outdoors.

About Me

I am happily married to my best friend. In February 2012 we were sealed together for time and all eternity. One of the best days of my life! Together (yours, mine and ours) we have 10 children. Currently only 3 of them live at home full time. And 3 of them we get part time. I work as an accountant full time and am blessed to enjoy my job. I am currently serving as the Primary President in my ward and I LOVE IT! Probably one of the best callings I've had. The kids are so awesome! I love to camp, ski in the winter (still learning) and basically anything outdoors when it's nice. I love almost all kinds of music and I love to play the piano. Especially playing the hymns. I love the gospel and am so thankful for having it in my life!!! I have a strong testimony of the temple and enjoy attending!!

Why I am a Mormon

All my life everything seems to have been on God's time. I wasn't always active in the church and didn't always make the best decisions in life. I've lost a son when he was a baby and I lost a husband after only being married for 5 years. The only thing that got me through those times was knowing that life doesn't end when we die. Our spirit continues living and one day when Christ comes again, we will be reunited with our bodies and live in eternal happiness with our familes if we obey our Heavenly Father's commandments. All throughout life I knew that if I prayed my Heavenly Father hears me. I have had so many experiences where I've known that my Heavenly Father knows exactly who I am. He know what I'm going through and all I have to do is ask for comfort. One time my oldest son was in an accident and life flighted to a hospital in Salt Lake City. He had swelling between his brain and his skull. I was 5 hours away and couldn't get to him. I was about 7 months pregnant and was so worried about him. I couldn't get back to sleep. I said a prayer for comfort and immediately I felt this comfort around me and I was able to go back to sleep. My son turned out to be okay. There have been so many times that I've needed comfort and all I had to do was pray and I felt the comfort of my Savior. That is part of why he died for us on the cross. Not only to take away our sins but to take away our burdens as well. To help us through the difficult times. I'm so thankful that I can attend the temple. It is the one place on earth where I can feel total peace. I can get answers to problems, questions...anything. I'm so thankful for this gospel!!

How I live my faith

Even though I live in Utah I work with a lot of non members or inactive people. I try really hard to live my religion. To be a good example. I want people to know that I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. One of my good friends is a non member and I see her struggles. I always let her know that we have a loving Heavenly Father and he hears and answers our prayers. I work with the children in our church--ages 18 month to 11 years old. They are a joy to be around. To see their testimonies so strong encourages me.
