Hi I'm Jessica Jones

I am in love with the great outdoors, I live for good music, I'm a missionary serving in Barcelona, Spain, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

Hola! I am a 20-year-old girl serving as a missionary in the Spain Barcelona Mission. I am incredibly blessed to serve in this wonderful place and learn to embrace the Spanish culture, the language, and the people, all of which I love with all of my heart. Before the mission I attended Utah State University, and I will return there to study music and writing. I love singing and playing guitar, and I also have a passion for writing stories and poetry. I hope to one day have a career in those fields. I love listening to music. It inspires me, uplifts me, and has gotten me through a lot of tough times in my life. I hope to one day make music that will do the same for other people. One of my greatest loves is the earth that God has given us. I could spend two straight weeks (or more if need be) backpacking in the mountains. I have a desire to explore the world, and I will do it on my own two feet. I also love to run, and I'm one of those who goes without the music :) Above all, I love my Savior, Jesus Christ. I know that He lives and I know that He not only felt all of our pains, sorrows, and weaknesses; He also felt our joys, successes, and our strength. Because of that, He knows how we feel in every single moment of our lives, in times of sadness and in times of happiness. He is always with us and we have the chance to use the precious gift He has given us: His perfect Atonement. Use it. Follow Him, and you fill find more joy than you can even imagine.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of the way being a Mormon makes me feel. I have true happiness from living this gospel, and I feel close to Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ because of it. I know that this church is true because I have personally taken Moroni's challenge found in the Book of Mormon. The reference is Moroni 10:3-5. It invites us to read the Book of Mormon with a sincere heart and real intent; with a true desire to know that the book is true and to be willing to change aspects of our lives as a result. If you read the Book of Mormon and take this challenge, I promise that an answer will come to you and you will know for yourself whether or not this church is true. The Book of Mormon testifies of Christ. It is "another testament of Jesus Christ." With that being said, if the Book of Mormon is true, then Jesus is the Christ, Joseph Smith was a prophet of God called to restore the church of Christ upon the earth, and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the one and only true church on the earth. Read the Book of Mormon! I have taken this challenge myself, and I have found my answer. I love this church, I love this gospel, and I love my Father in Heaven and His Son Jesus Christ. I will always be a Mormon because it is who I am.

How I live my faith

Living my faith is simple. I strive to keep the commandments, be a good person, and love and serve others. In Matthew 25:40, it says, "Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me." That means that when we serve others, we are truly serving Christ. Service is the base of our religion, and it is what makes our church keep going. Being a missionary is not a job or a chore; I don't get paid, but I do it because I want to serve and I know that it is what God would have me do. I know that there are people here in Spain who I will personally reach. I love this beautiful gospel, I know my Savior lives, and I will always be a Mormon!

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?
